Lower the brightness. One of the first thing I do with IPS is reduce the brightness down to 10% but it depends on the scale the monitor is using. The only monitor I had troubles with was a mini led VA as white Letters all had some rainbow effect on the edges. in a full core productivity workloads 16 cores does the job in half the time vs 8 core.

I wouldn't leave it on stock though as you should be able to increase boost clock by 200 Mhz while setting -15 or higher if it's stable curve optimiser on all cores but you'd have to test how good your silicon is with e.g. cinebench. I wouldn't recommend setting the PBO scalar as some guides suggest.

I really like the idea of the rear I/O light on the Corsair Warthog and since there doesn't seem to be any Aliexpress products for one available, I'm thinking about how hard would it be to DIY one myself. Could someone tell me if these black artifacts appearing on the screen might be a sign that my GPU is failing? Curiosity: they seem to be related to mouse and keyboard input. They appear when I type or move the mouse, and tend to disappear when there's no input.

Yes. I keep the tower in a horizontal position, so the GPU is set up as shown in the pic.
I found a post on Reddit where someone posted a photo showing a very similar issue, and everyone there is saying it’s an NVIDIA driver bug with Chromium-based browsers, but the problem happened to me with Firefox, so I suspect it might be something more serious...
I'll wait a bit and see if the problem comes back...

I have this case. It has some downsides. There's no built in fan hub, no indicator for when the PC is on or off, and the gpu is weirdly hard to mount thanks to the way they built the little door that swings open for you to put it in.

Run latencymon and use your computer for like 2 minutes then stop it and check out the dpc/isr of each core on the CPU tab. The two biggest source of interrupts are likely going to be your Mouse and GPU in the driver tab. You put your USB controller the mouse is plugged into on the core with the least dpc/isr usage. GPU is a bit tricky as theres one specific core it works best on and it's different for every system but you can refer to CPPC in Hwinfo64 or Ryzen Master to give you a hint of your best core and then put it on that. Put GPU to high priority and make sure MSI limits are set to 1 on the devices you change.

The hardware I chose and asked my co-worker to set aside for me is a Dell 4060 Ti 8GB, i5-12500, compatible motherboard, a 2x16GB kit of 2666MHz RAM, and a 2TB Intel 670p SSD (slightly used, pulled from a production machine that was barely touched before being retired). I would have to buy a case, power supply, cooler, and some fans but that's about it. Overall I'm looking at around $500 for all the parts from my job. Is the i5-12500 and RTX 4060 Ti 8GB a solid enough combo for general purpose and gaming up to and including AAA titles?

That rationale doesn't make a difference. The attribute being graphed around is decibels. If Noctua has made a generational leap in AIO heat exchange performance then they would be better on both graphs. Look at Canucks' graph again; you can read it as noise normalized just by looking at the spread of temperatures along a vertical line at each decibel level.

There is a discrepancy, everyone else can see that. If HardwareCanucks tested their LC1-36 and got 65C at 40 decibels, temperatures BELOW the best result of the 2nd place GA II Lite Perf which can spin up to 47dBA, then it is directly disagreeing with TPU's testing that says that 7 other AIOs can reach a lower temperature at 45dBA.

In this scenario, the unknown factors that could contribute to this is the exact heat generation method (is one of them not soaking for long enough?) and ambient temperature (perhaps Noctua's LC1s have better performance ceilings with lower air temps).
