Thanks to the LLM circlejerk feedback loop, all future development that doesn’t need low level control/performance will be written in these two languages. How do you feel about this?
>>109080537i'll know what products to avoid
>>109080537Not true LLMs are leading people to try other languages because LLMs can do the grunt work for them.
I literally built Minecraft in raw C the other day. Took about four hours.Your move.
theo asked altman live if altman was worried about this dynamic and altman said he wasn't because the models will keep getting smarter and knowledge/understanding will transfer even to languages with less training data.you'll be able to shove the docs into a 10 trillion context window and it'll do whatever you want in whatever obscure language regardless if it was trained on that language
Learning Python means I don't have to be stuck to being a codemonkey anyway so fine by me
>>109080537Two of my favorite languages
the answers in this thread are cringy AF and just show /g/ is just a pit of NEETs
>>109080537And the rest will be R*st due to borrow checker.
Both are horrible, but especially TypeScript. It's a LARP for webshitters to they can feel like le serious programmers, just write JavaScript. Last year I had to cleanup this TypeScript bullshit and convert it back to JavaScript at the company I work at and everyone was extremely happy about it.
>>109081037Trannies win again! Chuds will seethe
>>109080537>How do you feel about this?I feel good because I'm a web shitter and write in TS every day, even when at home for hobby projects I use either JS when I'm feeling funky or TS
>>109080537This was already happening before LLMslop took over the industry. The platform decides the language and not the other way around. It's either webshit or "serverless" cloudshit for the 99% of programming jobs that aren't already offshored anyway. The 1% remaining is the interesting bits of system programming or writing something that isn't basically framework copy/paste, CRUD database frontend tools, or an Excel report generator.Javascript (and TypeScript is still Javascript anyway, never mind that your typical webshitter just lint skips type checking and uses Any() type everywhere anyway) was going to be dominant for webshit regardless. Maybe Rust will become the memelang there in a couple years since Rust supports wearing programmer socks and all the right social causes, but that's just how webshit is. Javascript won there 30 years ago. When Amazon started using Python in all their AWS documentation, and not Java, Java's days as the default language for business in-house programming were numbered. Now that "cloud" services replaced all the Linux servers running Java, you get Python's dominance and Java goes out pasture.COBOL isn't dying because people can't learn the language or that it's actually bad. It's dying because COBOL's platform was big iron mainframes and your company's big suit chief IT monkey doesn't buy those anymore. Any detriments to making WORKING STORAGE clauses and using GOTO have nothing to do with its demise. The platform that language is coupled to is simply a dead-end.

rust works best wtih llms because of the autistic compiler janny tho
>>109080537Incorrect. All code for all purposes will be written in a real language—English.
>>109080537Before the LLM circlejerk feedback look, all then-current development was written in those two languages.
>>109082001Yeah and the LLM shit locks it in forever
>>109081750Webshitters winning is the nightmare scenario for /g/.
>>109081984>English>Real language
>>109084422English is like javascript of natural languages. Some midwit came up with this fucking crap and now half the world must use it.Imagine having like 16 tenses, who even came up with this
>>109084674Yeah, but the rest of the European languages are even more complex and then asian languages while simpler with tenses, are more complicated in other ways. English is literally the simplest shit even retards can learn.
>>109084674I wouldn’t call Brendan Eich a midwit. He was asked to invent a language in ten days, the problem was time constraints. English has no excuse for turning out the way it did.
