use case for non-nvidia dgpu?
>>109083447None. AMD is just Nvidia but 50$ cheaper while having terrible drivers, terrible raytracing, no support in professional software, no unique features and every feature they have is a bad copy of Nvidia.Intel is beta hardware with alpha software but they are getting better. Somehow they outperformed AMD in raytracing with their first gen GPUs but that is more of a testament of how shit AMD is.

>>109083504>AMD is just Nvidia but 50$ cheaper while having terrible driversdepends on your os, if you use linux nvidia drivers are shit, if you use windows ayymd driver are shit
>>109083790nvidia's linux driver is better than their windows driver now, you can even use wayland without issue and no bsod or black screen crashing nonsense like on the windows driver because nvidias #1 customers are linux AI users, #2 robotics self driving etc, and a very distant and low margin high complaint #3 is gamers using windows who nvidia hates now despite being the ones that made their business

decent linux supportcheaperTheir APUs are performant AND don't need 900W to run (look at the 395+)generally they've embraced open source if you care about that sort of thing>>109083548ROCm / Vulkan is good enough
>>109083998RoCM/HIp sucks ass
>>109084917have you ever written a compute shader or are you just bitching for nothing?
>>109083447Intel is good for the low-end that NVIDIA abandoned and is actually quite solid on the mid-range as well. AMD is good for uh, existing so NVIDIA prices aren't even more retarded than they currently are.
>>109083504>Somehow they outperformed AMD in raytracing with their first gen GPUslollmao even
>>109083447Linux support.
>>109083982Nvidia's Linux driver still doesn't support System Memory Fallback (offloading to RAM in case you run out of VRAM) like the Windows driver does.
>>109083447Intel QSV is pretty good for live video transcodes. There's a couple intel cards that fit really well in that niche being under 50w and not requiring 8 pin power.Amd video transcoding is atrocious but for linux gaming amd cards are pretty good. They're also decent for llms using vulkan instead of rocm. I'm getting better performance than a 3090 on my 7900xtx and right now they're 40% cheaper. Image gen is also faster but I'd rather generate code than heat up my desk area waiting 2 minutes to generate images.
>>109085120non-issue for llama.cpp just reduce the amount of layers on the gpu with -ngl it'll automatically put the rest on cpu+ram
>>109085008show pt results, because the regular rt is worthless
>>109087709>slopscaling is better than goyscaling!Name one more cucked race than the white one
>>109083447to run 3-6 monitors off a single device
>>109088535You had the choice to buy daisy chainable displays, why didn't you? AMD has supported 6 since at least polaris.
