I am anti-ai, I use firefox but I do own a PIxel phone. The recent announcement related to Google search seem worthwhile. I still don't want to support gen-AI content, but using Gemini as a search tool or using the Google Apps integrations (like Gmail reminders/appointments from emails, that kind of things) seems more and more enticing

Why shouldn't I use it ?

literally why care? ai is just fancy software. "gen ai content" isn't some heckin problematic evil, it's just pulling information. it makes no difference who does it

In the end, Anon, there are only two sides: the side of sluggish biology, humanists, and privacy, or the side of accelerationists, totalitarian surveillance and algorithmic control, posthumanists, capital, and efficiency.

Guess which one is doomed.

I am fine with anything as long as I can run it locally on my machine that I own and have full control over.

I'd tell you to read a history book but you won't like it.
