Aren't you happy you bought OLED?
>>
I dont buy goysloptech
>>
>>109086550
Explain this to me
Why do Oled tvs get burn in, but oled / amoled phones never do
>>
works on my machine
>>
>>109086564
They do, if you keep the screen turned on, showing the same image for a long time. But phones follow different usage patterns, that's why you don't notice it as much.
>>
for me it's local dimming
>>
>>109086574
This. Someone didn't know how to use his OLED.
>>
>>109086550
I know I am, but, I didn't buy them. I Tyrone'd all my OLEDs

Extremely. Bought an LG C5 to watch the World Cup and it's incredible. I thought the TCL MiniLED LCD my mother has looked pretty decent, but holy shit the C5 is on another level.
>>
>>109086564
>but oled / amoled phones never do
Mine has severe burn-in
>>
>>109086550
Yes, ive had my 4k OLED monitor for a year and its awesome. No burn in because i dont use it like a retard with maxxed out brightness
Better than most GPU upgrades you can make.
>>
I got rid of my LCDs for OLEDs and my daily migraines stopped turns out backlights are bad for (You)
>>
>>109086703
>its a you problem because it didn't happen to me
we both know this is an issue with oled
its what inevitable happens and you don't even know how long the TV used OP posted was
its like someone winning the lottery blaming everyone else who lost its a them issue
>>
>>109086685
literal goy cattle
>>
>>109086550
>buy oled screen
>use it as a clock
Clocks are substantially cheaper than TVs, maybe next time use the right tool for the job
>>
>>109086716
Its an issue that keeps being mitigated. That TV could have been kept on for hours on the same image endlessly every day.
Modern OLED monitors arent going to shit themselves unless you abuse them, or do one thing constantly like always keeping 2 Word windows side by side.
If you need one for document work and need it to keep perfect for 5-10 years, yeah id get something else, but for casual use its perfectly reliable.
>>
>>109086550
Its not like there is any other alternatives. They don't make CRTs or Plasma displays anymore. SED never got released. Laser phosphor displays are not available. What else is there?
>>
>>109086574
the status bar shows almost always the same thing though, and the navigation bar (yes the navigation bar, fuck gesture control) is the same too, but I have only ever seen burn in on a galaxy S2 of a colleague
>>
>>109086724
Literal seething brownoid dirt farmer.
>>
>>109086750
>CRTs or Plasma displays
>the two types of display with even worse burn-in than OLEDs
>>
>>109086550
Why do you need a clock on the tv?
>>
>>109086882
CRT is more likely to shit itself way before the burn-in happens.
>>
>>109086550
cool clock Ahmed
>>
>>109086882
Where did yo get the idea that CRTs have worse burn-in the OLED. CRTs last for a very long time. Though, I suppose technically that also applies to OLED if you set them at a reasonable brightness level, which of course nobody ever does. So really the whole burn thing is literally a "you're using it wrong" situation.
>>
>>109086693
IDK. I used my Nexus One for 2 years (launch 850 MHz, so definitely OLED and not a later S-LCD) and there was zero burn in. But you were also way less likely to use a phone for more than a few minutes at a time nearly 20 years ago.
>>
>>109087015
Shadow mask burn-in on CRTs was very real but you had to literally keep it on the same channel 24/7.

CRT tech existed for literally 100 years and had a wide range of diversity in implementations. 80s monochrome terminals could burn-in in a mere hundreds of hours, while late 90s PC monitors were for all intents and purposes completely immune, lasting potentially 100k+ hours. Whic is far longer than OLEDs today, which usually exhibit burn-in within just a couple thousand hours, sweeped under the rug with per-pixel calibration systems with varying degrees of success.

You run a TV for longer at higher brightness. You run a phone at low brightness unless you're in direct sunlight, and usually shut off the screen after a few minutes.

>>109088912

Your setup is fucking with my sense of scale/depth.
Even though I too have a C2 on a giant desk with a smaller side monitor, your pic just does not look right for some reason.
>>

A OLEDs don't get burn in. The diode is burning out and gets darker and darker.

my grandma has a samsung amoled phone and she watches tiktok slop all day and the screen has tiktok app UI burned in
>>
>hear stupid ledditors insist burn in isn't an issue until several years into a modern OLED monitor's life
>have notably visible burn in on my AW3423DW from a year and a half onwards
>eventually warranty it at the end of the period
>get recent revision of that monitor, clearly new in box
>9 months later
>can already see the exact same burn-in pattern forming
I have my monitors sleep after 3 minutes. Make sure to constantly which between applications, use them in fullscreen mode with generic Windows UI hidden. It is truly baffling how this technology took off considering how ephemeral and wasteful it is and at this point I'm pretty sure I got psyopped by jew companies trying to push their shit products.
>>
>>109086716
It is an issue to take inti consideration, but for pics like op you have to be literally retarded and use the tv in fucking weird ways where you keep a still image on it for hours and hours every day. If you’re planning on doing that don’t get an oled. Meanwhile my LG oled is ~10 years old and the only problem is slightly inconsisted grays when you put on a test image. No burn in, no other issues and tv is used daily for movies and video games. So it really is a non issue if you’re using a tv at least somewhat normally.

youtube logo and thumbnail border burn in - started showing after 5yrs normal use.

Extremely, infact it's the best monitor i've ever owned, there just nothing else that comes close to image quality and response times, are you happy with your monitor of choice anon?
>>
>>109086550
yes very. bought a lg c2 on black friday 2022 for 1k and its still going strong. i only use 50% brightness though which is probably relevant. but i am a neet so it gets heavy use

the real question is why are manufacturer selling a faulty tech? are consumers idiots? why aren't regulators acting on this? are they being lobbied?
>>
>>109086550
Imagine being so poor a single TV is a life ending financial decision.
>>
>>109086564
What the hell are you talking about? I have insane burn in on my OLED phone. The only reason you'd not get burn in on the phone would be from simply not using it enough for it to become noticeable. Using a phone in a way where the screen is on a lot of the time is an unusual use case. Phone screens are off 99.9% of the time, unless you're an absolutely vapid social media addict or a phone gamer.
>>
yeah i'm happy with it
>>109086564
my old phone had a burn in where the battery indicator is
>>
>>109086550
My LG C4 monitor is around 2 years old and I use it as a PC monitor, with static content all the time and there is no burn-in yet, so I'm happy with it.

I've been using my laptop for work almost every day for about two and a half years now, no burn-in yet.
My TV isn't on 24/7 so it will probably take 10+ years to see any burn in.
I'll get a desktop monitor once all the "quirks" are sorted out i.e. RGB subpixel layout, good full panel brightness, maybe tandem OLED panels etc.
It's hard to go back to IPS or VA once you've gotten used to OLED, everything else is cope.
>>
>>109087015
> muh crt lasts forever

yeah if you ignore the flyback failures, cap rot, and the fact they weigh as much as a small car. oled burn-in is real but at least i can actually move the screen.
>>
>>109086550
Yes. 21k hours as a secondary monitor wtih no noticeable burn in.

I am afraid to move my OLED, they are super fragile
CRT you can move easily without worrying about breaking it, OLED not so much
