AI assisted coding is a gimmick at best. You don't learn anything and you are just a manager.
You are not a programmer.

who are you talking to

someone post it already

pretty much. ai can have its uses in some places, but using it for coding production grade shit in enterprise environment is a gimmic imo. You're making unmaintainable slop and developing tech and cognitive debt.
corps that are having ai psychosis moment will get fucked, the same way corps get fucked when outsourcing labor to 3rd world.

So? Your gay little gatekept club is running out of time. Typing out code is is being automated. Cry harder luddite

Stop coping, just prompt Claude more

Chat, is this real?
>>

stop coping it produces slop. You lack the skill to see how
>>
>>109090891
> unmaintainable
You can dump an entire program of 1000s of lines of source code into claude, then ask for a high level overview diagram explaining it. If anything is too big you can section it up into multi files.

You can standardize prompts for it to rewrite the code for desired consistency and style. Including "clean code" to be more concise, and verbose comments detailing every step.

Im not sure what is psychosis about this?
>>
>>109091017
code looking clean doesn't mean it's not slop. Common mistake by inexperienced devs.
Too many comments is bad code too.
>>
>>109091017
1000s of lines is nothing.
>>
>>109091215
also this lol. If you need fucking diagrams to explain mere 1000s lines of code, delete your codebase now
>>
I’m really trying to master programming and I noticed that the best times are when I completely do it on my own and the most boring times are when I give up and let AI do the job.

If it works no one gives a shit how sloppy it is except for a bunch of autists about to become obsolete.
>inb4 it's le slow
put higher hardware requirements and let users deal with it
>>
>>109091697
it will matter when it becomes unmaintainable. Hits some weird concurrency bug which neither ai nor you can solve cuz you don't understand the codebase anymore. Or when making new feature without breaking existing ones costs millions of tokens cuz of how sloppy and overengineered code is.
>>
I mean most of my workload is pretty much telling junior devs what to do and then telling them how to fix it. AI is the same but faster and smarter
>>
>>109090628
Agents are like productive but retarded code slaves with an amazing memory. When I tell it exactly what needs to be done it can easily outperform code cucks such as yourself. But if you tell it to actually engineer something it will produce slop. See the difference? Keep it up and you'll get laid off for refusing to use AI correctly
>>
>>109090628
Keyboards are a gimmick at best. You didn't learn anything and you're just a manager.
You're not a data entry clerk.
>>
>>109091896
except that juniors learn and ai doesn't. And those who fail to learn get fired.
>>109091898
you're making slop and lack the skill to understand it's slop or overestimate how much time you save if doing it properly. Many such cases with ai psychosis.
>>
>>109091919
>And those who fail to learn get fired.
if only

>>109091927
jeet sweatshop?
>>
>>109090628
Why should any of us care? Most of us don't code for fun we code to build the things that either solve people's problems, make money, or (ideally) do both. I'll handcode for my own amusement in the same way I do sudoku puzzles or if the AI generally can't handle a codebase/problem's required level of complexity, but why would I chose to use a shovel instead of an excavator if I just need to dig a really fucking big hole?
>>
>>109091934
Big financial institution
>>
>>109091994
same shit lol
>>
>>109091986
>excavator
if you're making so much code you're making unmaintainable slop. Unless your business model is that of a jeet sweatshop or something that matches ai usecase very good it will bite in the ass financially too.

great! i don't want to be.

I like working with AI because its like code reviewing a junior's code except I can be mean to him and change shit that I don't agree with
