Google has massively improved its software over the last five years. Back then, iOS mogged Android so hard it barely felt like a competition. Apple's software looked cleaner, felt smoother, and had a more premium vibe overall. Android had features, but it often came across as less polished and more inconsistent.

Now, Android feels completely different. The UI looks premium, animations are smooth, performance is solid, and the whole experience feels refined. Google's design language has matured a lot, and everything feels more cohesive than before. At this point, Android feels on par with iOS, and in some areas it's honestly more comfy to use

Don't buy a pixel unless picrel
If you are buying a phone for the ui or features or animations or something you're probably 14 and indian

Shut up, Daniel.

I got a pixel 7 for graphene. Fucking loved it, took a out two weeks of tinkering here and there to get it where I wanted. But, the hardware is pretty week and it has a shitty radio so I can't get more than 1 bar most of the time.
Had to go back to my S24U for the time being. Will grab a pix 10 when prices come back down and try it again with graphene
>>
>>109090797
You’re brown
the only saving grace of shitxels is that they run graphene
>>
>>109091104
when i had a 4a 5g i had loads of issues with reception but after getting an 8a they all cleared up. i hope motorola phones never have this issue.
>>
>>109090797
Did they fix their 2022 cpu?
>>
>>109090797
>Back then, iOS mogged Android so hard it barely felt like a competition
It really didn't. iOS didn't even have a file manager back then. A feature that was on phones 20 years ago before we even had touch screens.

Is this not normal? My 6, 8, and 10 have all had this rattle
I thought it was some camera thing
>>
>>109090797
love?
i have a p8p and it is like holding a furnace especially in summer
i fucking hate this besides it having a very sane bootloader unlock policy

those are camera lens, OIS
completely normal

Me, a happy Pixel 7 owner since 2022
>Rattle? What's he talking about?
>*shake phone next to ear*

Upgraded to a pixel 10 pro xl from a regular s24 and the battery life is shit, literally the same as my s24 which i used daily for 2 years.
I also tried graphene but the lack of wallet and other features made it unusable for me, and the battery life barely improved with it.
I already posted a listing and I will buy the s26u as soon as i sell it.
>>
>>109090816
I had this phone and it sucked. I have a pixel 7 now and it feels worse than the pixel 4 in every way. The iPhone 11 I had was way better than everything else I've ever used so far.
>>
>>109093141

I just did it too late LMAO
It's rattling like crazy
Pixel 8 pro but I got it like a week and a half ago
>>
>>109093630
pixel peaked at 4
i currently am using p8p but i am still having p4 at my collection just because how good it is
camera is unironically better than p8p in some areas too

>no sd card slot
into the trash it goes
>>
>>109093630
I thought the pixel 2 was great, it had a few hardware faults but they were fixable.
3,4,7 have all been mediocre but usable.
My main issue is the security patch support.
I'd use any of the previous models if they had security patches, not feature updates, past this year.

phones now are large enough that sd cards are basically useless unless you're hoarding a shit ton of stuff. at that point, just use your computer
>>
>>109095301
they're making it more of a pain, but it's still easier

Why do people keep spouting this meme? This stop being the case after Android 5 if you weren't buying dollar store burner phones.
>>
>>109090797
android has been comfy since 2014 dude

Yeah I had the 9 Pro XL it was fine, but 10 Pro XL you can hear it quite a bit, it's the sensor stabilizer.
I don't care tho, I actually rattle it like a ocd thing kek.
>>
i have a 9 pro xl with grapheneos and it works perfect

Posting from my pixel 4a 5g. It just works. Not a scratch on it since I'm not a woman and can properly hold objects.
>>
>>109090797
Bot post. The nexus line was superior in every way. The only use a pixel has these days is installing a different rom.

Anything I should know about buying a 9a for Graphene in current year? I want a phone with a physical SIM slot, otherwise it seems almost identical to the 10a.
>>
>>109093405
This is a lie. I get 10+ hours of usage and screen on time on GrapheneOS that's optimized
>>
>>109102168
only Google hardware made by Google is secure enough for GrapheneOS, the most secure OS for when privacy is of the utmost importance. no other OS is more secure. no other hardware is capable of running it.
>>
>>109102059
it's called dark magic these days
>>
>>109102476
Disregard that Google has a history of allowing it's customers to do anything with their hardware, including all Chromebooks, which allowed replacing the firmware with open source firmware unlike all other laptops, with so much freedom that some ARM ones are actually endorsed by the FSF, and that all other consumer laptops do not get even remotely close with firmware freedom.

And also ignore the fact that Google themselves are actively fighting and trying to get rid of the grapheneOS project, and that soon it will be completely incompatible with all pixel devices.

I'm sure even once they move to Motorola phones everyone will still be making posts like this.

Just got given a Pixel 8 Pro after years of using a Nokia 3310. What do I need to do to maximize privacy? And what else should I be aware of?

btw I kinda like it.
>>
>>109103619
maximise privacy? install grapheneos right away. you can still install google apps if you want

Considering getting a Pixel 8 for the size, but AI and Reddit tell me it has an infamous green line problem. Will likely opt for a Xiaomi 12S for the curved display and Lineage OS.

I had a 5X and it started bootlooping after a couple months

Was thinking of upgrading my S21FE to one of these for Graphene but the processor being weak kinda spooks me. I don't game much but seeing the benchmarks hit 4k while my S21 hits 4.5k just looks pathetic
>>
>>109103739
no, you can log in with that account no issue
>>
>>109103770
ok thanks

>>109103731
Happened to me after a year. The substrate in the CPU was bad and cracked. Sucked because the camera was great. Something about it's grading or HDR I haven't been able to get again.
>>
>>109103727
>>109103731
>>109103886
yep nexus lovers (and i was one) never mention the bootlooping. Shit is why I had to stop using mine.
