Do you think we live in the most exciting period technology wise?
Techlet here, with all these billions of dollars going into research for stuff like interplanetary travel, artificial intelligence, having a computer and the tools to do a lot by yourself, do you like the period we live in? Do you think it's the most exciting and that we will see amazing stuff or is everything a bubble and nothing is happening?

Your great grandmother grew up with a horse and buggy on a farm without electricity or running water, and she likely died owning a house full of accommodations that were only available to monarchs and millionaires when she was young. You get generated images of Will Smith eating spaghetti.

AI sloppa came out of nowhere and its straight up scifi. That being said I’m not too hapoy actually living through it. As a codenigger I’ll be jobless in like 2 years if progress doesn’t slow

The wider implication of all knowledge work being devalued is also gonna be a lot of fun

we wont know it's a bubble until it collapses. even if it is a bubble, and it does pop, the technology doesnt vanish overnight.

it's unlikely the majority of people will be seeing the fruits of interplanetary travel or anything like that. at most we will see jobs dissapear with AI, and the value of human labor plummet, and the majority of individuals will be very sad indeed.

The tech will mever vanish since open weights models can be downloaded by anybody. glm 5.2 is as good as openai/misantrophic models that were released ~6 months ago. All you need to run it is a 512 gb ram (slow as fuck but doable for any random joe) or vram (much more expensive but doable for most 20+ companies)

Nah it sucks. There has been no tech advancements since 2010 aside from AI and slightly improving some things while making others worse. And AI is the biggest monkey paw of a technology there is.
>Make AI that can save time coding
>Programmers and bunch of other people bought in crossfire lose jobs while those remaining are pressured to work harder for worse pay

>Invent AI that can discover new drugs and cure diseases
>It can also generate bioweapons

>Create AI that can make conversations with you and explain things to you
>Most if the internet is AI slop overnight

>Make robot that can do dishes and boring housework
>It costs as much as a car and it can also do half of all minimum wage jobs by default

>Make AI that can do anything so people can just collect UBI
>Makes 99.999% of population redundant, allowing hyper elites who own everything to just cull the useless masses.

nah its shit. All promises and nothing to show for unless you're a retarded reddit scientism fag.
>star trek sentient AI?
no, retarded guessing machine which can't count letters in a word and produces sloppy code. But corps care so little for quality they use it everywhere further enshittifying everything
>interplanetary travel
spacex is a total grift now. All those missions? cancelled. Now the company exists as an exit liquidity for early investors.
>billions going to ...
yeah the economy is in the shitter. Money printer is endlessly printing and money is going to some insanely overvalued companies while we pretend eveything is fine and jerk off to growing GDP number. When this shit collapses we will be fucked. Great depression on steroids is coming

I've grown up with computers my entire life and am a software engineer by career
and I've never been more certain that Uncle Ted was 100% right and everyone is fucked because we didn't listen
>>
modern technology is gay and retarded. Your "AI" is just a stupid fucking autocomplete on steroids and your entire lineage will never be rich enough to afford interplanetary travel when it gets invented in 100 years from now
>>
>>109093616
what lineage
>>
>>109092783
Yes but only when strictly excluding the vast majority of redditor opinions including all of their moderation, but also while excluding all of linkedin opinions by stupid jeets and standard forcer brainlets.

present is consistently the time period with most technology.

which is scary, as it implies at some point(and as it looks right now - soon) technology consumes everything.

on the other hand, this is the only time period where we have a genuine hope for immortality and liberation from the demiurge.

probably, it will go bad for us. nothing good ever happens.

Good part: AI can bruteforce protein folding, giving us insane capabilities in developing drugs to combat diseases. Also there are crazy gains to be made in materials science. Solid state batteries for cars are a game changer.
Bad part: we're outsourcing all our thinking to matrix multiplication. We can't check the AI's "thinking" so increasingly we just shrug and trust it. This is especially scary because the military essentially just asks Anthropic where to drop bombs and it can't even count letters in words
>>
>>109092783
this is not that cool future we were all promised back before big tech got too big. it's not even close.

Is that on your script, or are you really so goddamn fucked up retarded you honestly believe any of this? Are you Indian?
