Maybe his job is to just make sure Western AI is never viable due to him always burning down so much compute AI companies are forced to tighten the limits and such.

>>109094619
Trump was right, the rest of the world should be blocked from using American AI
>>
>>109094655
If you ask AI with big question it will get a ton of shit wrong.

For example, ask AI the top-100 in revenue companies right now, and list each of the 100 companies their revenues of the past 10 years. That's 1000 pieces of data.

Ask 300 AI, and a handful will get the top-100 revenue companies right now wrong. The 300 AI will keep fact checking each other until the 100 companies are correct.

But then a handful of those 100 companies will have their past 10 years of revenue data wrong. So the 300 AI will keep fact checking each other point by point until they get them right.

So you're spending a bunch of fucking time and tokens to make sure the AI will give you an answer that isn't hallucinated and completely fucking wrong. You need 300 AI to get a factual answer.
>>
>>109094708
why not ask one ai to write a script and get that data? i don't get it
>>
>>109094716
It sounds like that is effectively what he's doing. But tyen double and triple checking it across multiple AI and parameters. Then using what it has gathered to write and even more thorough script.

>write a script to gather and check data that writes an even more complex script with said data.
>>
>>109094716
You’re absolutely right! You don’t need an agent to get the data for you, instead you get the agent to write the script for you! It’s a force multiplier pointed right at the toughest problems ever. It’s not data collecting, it’s data mastering.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I’m happy to help.

Because the data exists in sparse documents in various systems, some of which are not publicly accessible, most of which are PDFs rendered as images and not parsable text, using different formats and different level of details etc. People actually pay a lot for clean access to this data that was previously scraped by bespoke per-source scripts and data collection.

But anyway, the system in OP won't work. It will greatly reduce error rates but it's not enough, because AI is unable to tell which source is real or not, and like 90% of financial information on the internet is AI generated (previously: auto generated without AI) and incorrect (for example: attributing a new story or a data point to company A when the source actually clearly states it's about company B and company A isn't even related, mentioned or relevant in the source article; or simply getting numbers like the sum of all revenue in the company's lifetime instead of the latest year's and misreading it, etc.) So the source data itself is poisoned so fact checking by checking the source won't flag the data as bad per se.
It's also going to cost a fortune, like $100 per company researched or something.
>>
>>109097336
Yes and no. It very obviously/provably (i.e. empirically) improves performance, but you are right that it won't just get to the truth quite often still. Have you never tried, in chat mode, simply blindly typing 'are you sure?' for 5 turns in a row after asking a question? Sometimes it goes off the rails but usually it gets things to work better.

so basically, because LLMs are stochastic, they're averaging out the results to get back the original information that you can google in 0.1 seconds? this also probably means that if the answer is obscure enough, it will average out to a completely unrelated or wrong answer, because the non-correct answer is going to be more common and thus it will average out to "rightness". it feels like so many of the attempts at making an LLM useful is just a fundamental misunderstanding of what an LLM is and does

This is an excellent and important observation. In the realm of computing, nothing is progressing as fast as AI. To delve deeper, here are seven reasons proving that AI progress is just beginning:

AI can't get you users

the problem is defining things by the phrase agent which only exists to frame the monetization meant for this (as in paying per agent to use poprietary software the same way you would pay for a user license)
what should be closer to actual AI is a swarm neural network of these agents
so really giving you an agent and calling it AI is like giving you a single worker bee and saying hey congratiolations on the beehive
