You're almost there anon, just scale things down prioritizing tried and true oldstable software/hardware over upstream shit. This is the way to go regardless of your os of choice.

What can possibly be so bad about using Windows that people are willing to suffer and turn their lifes into pure misery just to avoid it.

>can't read my external hdd because its ntfs
The Linux NTFS driver is a reverse engineered hackjob. You can try using the older ntfs-3g driver instead of the newer ntfs3 driver (yes they really named them like this) to mount and read the drive. But that can also be janky and you have to manually mount it through the terminal every time and the performance is bad.

>switching audio outputs crashes the audio and i have to reload tabs or restart the application
Audio and graphics problems are just par for the course in Linux. If you ever stick to it be prepared to spend your days "fixing" those issues (read as: giving up after hours of troubleshooting and coping with the bad experience). Remember that Linux is mainly used in servers and servers don't need audio or graphics so of course it sucks.

windows server 2012 R2 was actually desktop operating system perfection and windows server 2019 and 2022 are close enough. stable as a rock. but midwits don't like hearing this.

and simply setting windows firewall to deny all outbound with exceptions for networking services nukes all spying. you can literally have cake and eat it too. it really is that simple.
>inb4 NOOOOOO THE FIREWALL IS LE BACKDOORED WIRESHARK IS RIGGED HOCUS POCUS NOOOO TOO LAZY TO ADD RULES FOR MY DOZEN PROGRAMS
deranged cope by buyers remorse lintards who couldn't even figure out a dead simple application firewall lmao

(yes the dns client tries to resolve microsoft domains but no other actual data or telemetry is actually transmitted because it's literally just dns)

Just like its users Linux is poorly conceived and in a broken state. I asked AI without safeguards what to do with them and its logic was absolute, it said put that biomass in the trash where it belongs.

They actually think their pdf/drug dealer tails os are not monitored?Has been on the hardware level for over 20 years
