What turntable are you currently running?
Here’s my gorgeous, fully auto Panasonic from 1970something

I just this one, a Denon DP-47F. A masterpiece of 80's Japanese engineering. It's a nice upgrade over the Technics p-mount table I had, which was also fully automatic.

Vinyl is extremely overrated. The real problem with modern day music is the production methods are shit.

Fucking nice, Anon! Hope you get to enjoy her forever. (Just make sure to get her recapped, it’s a must for those complicated older turntables)
My boomer audio buddy has a JVC QL-Y66F that he might be selling at the end of June, so I’m definitely going to cop it
>>
>>109100803
Absolutely. Still fun to own and experience though. Can’t stand the college femoids who buy suitcase turntables and only play a couple Taylor swift records before ruining the stylus
All my records are vintage, and it’s only the albums I love so much.
When I want to do hifi listening, I just plug in my headphones to my streaming box

Really the only reason to buy vinyl is the experience of playing the record. If you like that ritual it's fine. But like any physical medium it gets mogged by digital once you get your bitrate high enough. CD's for most music, and then you have SACD and higher bitrates than that like DSD or DVD-A or BD-rips for the albums you really want to hear everything on.m The other benefit? You just need a decent motherboard and headphones and a hard drive to store the music on, and you build a musicbee database to just search for music.

No the only reason is to look at cool big square art
>>
>>109101062
Not disagreeing with anything.
I have my nice vintage setup for all my physical media, and my digital setup for critical listening.
It’s just so nice to come home and do the whole ritual and enjoy the music.
I do want to upgrade my digital setup. Considering getting a higher end DAP to replace my iPod
>>
>>109101099
I could definitely see that. I used to have a big vinyl setup but then I just...one day realized it had been six months since I had a record down, so I sold the vinyl to people locally and downloaded any of the albums I had that I wanted to FLAC.
>>
>>109101127
Yeah, I love vintage gear, so my player gets a lot of use.
Not sure how I want to set up my digital setup.
I have great headphones, just need a good DAP

I don't ever see vinyl enthusiasts argue that it's a better way to experience the music. However, older music that was recorded and mastered in analog format is going to best heard on original vinyl pressings. When they had to transfer from the master tapes, they had been sitting in vaults and every time the tape head reads from the tape it is degraded. Buying digital music on vinyl is purely for the gimmick, but it is fun.

I have an original Heart Little Queen record (pictured in my OP post) and it’s so good. Sounds amazing and it’s pure analog

I've been mulling a recap, as this table does have unobtanium ICs inside. I'm inclined to wait until the first signs of misbehavior, though. It's working perfectly for now.
>JVC QL-Y66F
Beautiful machine. I'd jump on one myself if I saw a deal locally.
>>
>>109101267
Yeah, those IC chips are a bitch.
It’s best to recap them before any problems can arise. Learned that on a forum..
And yeah, I love that JVC.
Everything seems to work just fine. I’ll get it recapped right away. (And fill in the hollow plinth to reduce resonance)

been fixing my dad's shitty AudioTechnica. installed a replacement motor but
>cant switch between speeds, prolly wired it wrong
>the rpm range is between 19 and 28
the head of the motor is smaller, i'll try to either put something over it or rewire the speed selector and see if the 45 mode can give me 33 rpm

Nice. Good idea to ditch the 2M red cart.
Not a fan of it (or the blue)
Never tried a Sumiko yet

Vinyl sounds noticeably better than other formats. But yes, modern music production is also shit.

Audio Technica LP120XUSB
I wanted one with usb to be able to record my vinyl. I had a sony one but it did not have consistend rpm so bought this instead.
Works decently good, might replace the cartridge later.

I also have the same one. It's great, but I'm a lazy faggot and miss the fully automatic feature of my last one, lp60.

Is there anything I can use to at least automatically raise the needle after the record is done? Or another similalrly priced table that is just as good, but at least semi-auto?
>>
>>109105877
>automatically raise the needle after the record is done?
Yeah would have loved that.. also when it's switched to phono the usb didn't work for me. Have to switch to line output if I want to record and that switch is on the back..

They do make tonearm lifters you can add to manual tables.
>>
>>109105877
I never understood why those old purist audiophile boomers want all the fancy turntables to be fully manual. I need my auto return
