Kde 6.7 yall. Isn’t it glorious? Fucking Linux devs need to be strung up and crucified roman style for being so fucking retarded. How can you be this bad at coding? The scourging of Jesus is too weak of a punishment. It’s on purpose at this point. By the way the system works perfectly. It’s a 9070xt and works perfectly fine on 6.6.5. There’s no excuse for it to be this fucking terrible.

sudo dnf upgrade --exclude plasma\*it is known by the KDE Plasma team and it is actively being worked on, and distros who are pushing it were told to revert to the 6.7 gold release, the issue is 6.7.01. Fedora is the only distro on earth that seemingly has this in their repositories still. Arch pulled it today. I actually apologize for this bug. This was NOT my fault, there are SO many bugs in 6.7 and we told EVERYONE to revert to 6.6.4 until we can work it out. We have an update on the way. The issue is kwin, and removal of x11 fixes your issue but causes a TON of apps to not work properly. We are trying to fix an input latency issue within kwin. It should be resolved today. Within testing parameters on our limited installs it does seem to be working and the update will be pushed out monday.t.plasma dev
I'm also using a 9070XT and have had no issues with it.

>>109100941Why doesn't Fedora wait for their new release before jumping to a new KDE point release? It doesn't seem like they should be recommended if they're prepared to be this careless.
>>109102978Fedora is bit iffy but generally has been fine for me. Use common sense when updating. People think that they need to update all the time should only do it if a new feature is a must have or something is broken
>>109100941It's the price to pay for focusing on upstream protocols and (in kde case) features over stability and consistency (eg: xfce), it's very rare to get the best of both worlds.
>>109103096Also, strategy, for example xfce4 dev decided to simply write a new wm/compositor from scratch for wayland because he realized that having xfwm supporting both (or transitioning to Wayland) is ultimately a fucking retarded solution that will lead to pile of spaghetti code shit.
>>109101024>there are SO many bugs in 6.7 and we told EVERYONE to revert to 6.6.4 until we can work it outWhat is the point of adding even a single feature while there are open bugs? Why not just close all bugs first, then make new features?
>>109100959I have 6.7. Not saying it's lacking in bugs, but it does "work".
>>109103182Most of the “bugs” people report aren’t really bugs. Sometimes it’s intended design or the fix is just too complicated. We fix one thing and it breaks so many other things. Like op facing some unforeseen bug. We released it but not to prod channels. Only Fedora has the issue. If op were to switch to like arch it would probably just work. We rolled out the fix. Fedora hasn’t upstreamed it. No clue why. Maybe they like fucking their users over? Idk I’m not a mind reader. Fedora is slow and bloated in any case and should really be seen as garbage by itself. The fix was dead simple. Hopefully it’ll be gone. It was a line of code // out for some reason. Uncommenting it and bam everything worked as intended. Maybe Gentoo would be a better fit for OP? Maybe they should go back to Windows or Mac or whatever bullshit os they came from. >report a bug? X>I got it, let’s go onto /g/ and shitpost! Like I don’t mind my work looking bad. But Fedora is the worst distribution on earth. They worship gnome and jerk each other off I presume over gnome. Bugs happen. They get fixed. Sometimes those fixes break other things. Oops. Sorry. Let’s fix it. Wayland has been such a pain in the ass. I don’t even use kde myself outside of the development machines. I personally use Mate on Debian Sid. It just works. Zero configuration bullshit. Menus all work as intended. Just good stable solid software. Games launch. Everything is fast and smooth. Zero surprises. I even use Nvidia gpus. It’s not that I hate kde, it’s that the entire thing is developed by a global team, some of them are retards. Xfce doesn’t have issues either. I was tasked with Kwin development and sddm. If I break something, I’ll fix it. My bad. The update is out. It works on arch from what I’ve heard. It’s only Fedora that’s the issue here.
>>109103394So I got a KDE question. What are the "Failed to register with host portal QDBusError("org.freedesktop.portal.Error.Failed", "Could not register app ID: App info not found for 'org.kde.baloo'")"Errors that constantly show up in the log? They aren't isolated to baloo and there are several different forms. I can't tell if they have any effect on the operation of KDE at all.
>>109103433Benign warnings. Missing or malformed .desktop files from kde 4. It’ll be worked out at some point. It’s xdg.desktop.portal. If we disable the offending code it causes plasma to hang and cause out of memory errors. So at the point, we leave it on.
>>109103394You know things are bad when not even KDE devs use KDE.
>>109103394>I personally use Mate on Debian SidWhat's wrong with Plasma on Sid? It is currently at version 6.6.5 which is presumably the most mature KDE version available.

>>109101024>>109103394I really like KDE but why the hell is there still no official global menu or window title applet? I hate using the stupid "get more" plasma store and think it should be nuked already.

>>109104087>you want too many customization optionsI don't think KDE has too many customization options. I tried using Ubuntu with Gnome and that DE is way too fucking far on the other extreme, having "too many" options by comparison is a huge blessing.I had to use CLI to disable sleep on my computer running Ubuntu. What the fuck? I could even completely disable sleep through the GUI on Windows. That's a normal thing to do.

>>109100941kde is not for daily use. It's for Windows users larping as Linux users. Ask any KDE user to post an uptime picture, and they will fuck off because either they just booted their VM or KDE requires a reboot every 45 minutes to "work".
>>109104724Here you go.
>>109100941Switch to Kubuntu. They don't upgrade without testing it first. It'll save you a lot of trouble.
>>109105047It's probably a better experience, but it seems the KDE team isn't competent enough to maintain the monstrosity they have created, so it'll still be features piled on features. Fedora are just reckless with KDE, but seem to be much more conservative around Gnome.
