>>
>>109101326
youre bad at tech if you care about something mundane like a font
>>
I like charter for anything I read and ibm plex mono for programming/terminal
>>
>>109101326
The best font I’ve used was a derivative of Menlo shipped with MobaXTerm called “MobaFont”

Some of the IBM Plex mono fonts aren’t bad though, I use those sometimes.

I’ve tried virtually all other fonts, like fira code and whatnot at certain points. Not that great.

In the 90s I used the 8514a font for the most part, and “fixed” on Sun workstations, however I usually use the 10x20 unifont that I hacked to dot the zero and other tweaks since my eyes aren’t what they used to be… fixed is 6x9 I think.

>>109101480
comic sans is fixed width?
>>
>>109101326
Baskerville, I mean yeah it's older than the French Revolution but it's still a great font.
>>
>>109101326
M+ Fonts
Futura Bk BT
Liberation Sans
GNU Unifont
Libertinus
>>
>>109101714
Someone made "Comic Mono", a monospace version of it. You can set some terminals like Putty to regular Comic Sans and it'll use it as fixed width, which will work but not look quite as good as Comic Mono.

Absolutely best is Terminus. It's slightly ugly but very readable.
>>
>>109101707
Silicon Graphics "screen" font is pretty cool too. It's maybe bit ugly by today's standards but launching Irix desktop was so damn cool... You can find it via google.

>Commit Mono
The best humanist programming font
>Noto *
Standard design for most of human scripts, nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary, what you would expect well designed
>Optima
Serifless roman
>Gentium
Beautiful and legible, I'd say it's the best serif out there
>Minion
What Times New Roman should have been.
>Adobe Trajan (Sans)
EMBRACE TRADITION
>classical aldine style
Good, but they tend to have a low x-height and closed counters which makes them them less legible at smaller sizes
>>
>>109101326
VGA 8x16

I'm writing a programming book. Unfortunately, I've fallen in love with STIX Two. I have no idea what monospace to pair with it.

"Discovered?" So there just out there, hiding, waiting for us to stumble across them?

I like Mono Fonts, and my favorite is Hacker. I'm glad somebody found it.
