I used to be a proficient programmer (good enough, not a top one), but since the AI tools have become better and better, i have grown lazy. Now i'm realizing that i'm slowly forgetting how to write code, and i dont like it. I used to enjoy writing code, but nowadays it just feels futile.
>>109101606it's over, mate. Move on.
>>109101606It's called growing up, imagine marrying some woman and she becomes extremely fat and bossy. This is the relationship
>>109101606Why would you? I think what you liked was being in the zone. But ultimately writing code is just a means to an end. It's like calligraphy - in the past it used to be necessary, so that other people can read books written by scribes, and it was probably relaxing and satisfying for the scribes. But nowadays it's an almost useless skill, because we mostly use digital lettersI mean you can still learn calligraphy as a hobby, and it's a good thing for the brain to have a slower activity like that, because it's like meditation. So if writing code is like that for you, then you can do it. But if your goal is to ship something then you want the fastest pace
>>109101606>forgetting how to write codeDon't worry your pretty little head about it, soul-suckingly boring tasks like that should be done by AI anyway. You should be spending your time doing more important work like getting AI to do your code reviews and integration testing.
>>109101606With any luck, the public will turn against AI enough to have it banned worldwide, so don't lose hope too quickly.
>>109101722Yeah buddy, just vote harder. That'll show the elites who's boss.
Yeah, me too, i enjoyed learning, studying, wasting my weekend chasing some side project and all that. I had this motivation to try to get better and so on but after AI theres no point. At least if you are an artist, no matter how good AI """""art""""" becomes, there will be people like me who refuses to consume that shit but not with coding. You cannot find someone who enjoys handmade scalable, b2b integrations. Besides AI another thing is that i never found some project that i could dedicate my life to it. In the end it is like all the important software is already written and now whatever you come up with is some business related shit like improving ad reach or saving costs for blackrock shell company #56342332.I believe the only field left is game dev. You can still write everything from scratch if you wish and it wont be some harmful software like AI, social media or cloud.

>>109101801halfway through invading neighboring countries
>>109101695> imagine thinking writing boilerplate is a personality traitjust say you can't debug and move on
>>109101606Ai won and there’s nothing you can do about it. You’re obsolete
>>109102212nigger, i already use AI, and probably I'm more proficient at it as you since my verbal IQ is above average. I'm just saying that i genuinely enjoyed programming, but now suddenly i don't feel it anymore, and even as stupid as it sounds, i really feel it, programming was one of the things that made me feel genuinely happy. The thrill of getting something hard getting done was really something.
>>109102302at it than*i correct myself since you will probably take my drunk ass message as a leverage for your next argument, nigger.
>>109102313>>109102302>speaking ill of an AI ChadI'm sus of your AI usage claims. Are you sure you aren't trans?
>>109102302>enjoying manual codingEwww that’s so transNo wonder you enjoy that shitSince I turned myself into a vibeGOD i get paid more. We have fired every codetrans at my workplaceStop seething and start vibeGODDING, faggot
>>109102324Yes, I’m starting to believe he’s transNo wonder he hates ai
>>109101606Seems like the solution is simple, just write code.
