Why can't leather jacket man swallow his pride and get rid of that high-power connector?
It's shit
Yeah pic related is more about Asus slop specifically and not even about melting connectors but still.
5090s are still melting
This should never ever happen with high-end components

can’t he just blame the aib maker and just get rid of them once and for all?
>>
so how long before we get copper busbars on the motherboard

Nvidia has 92% GPU marketshare, cope harder amdjeet

I don't really get what could cause that discoloration. The article says the card is fine, so presumably there's no electrical fault causing scorching. Maybe the GPU was mounted vertically, and venting straight onto the nvme heatsink cover? Even then I wouldn't think exhaust air from a GPU could be hot enough to discolor plastic.

more importantly why aren't gov't, especially in EU, stepping in? that connector is a fire hazard.

It's the resistance in the power connector.
The 12whpwr connector is shit, and because of the giant blob of 12w at the gpu you don't have power balancing.

He does not want to sell GPUs to plebs. High end GPUs burning is what he wants. In 2 years there will be no 6090, and 5090 will cost 10k. The few high end cards will be made for people who do not care how much it cost like they do not care how much a Ferrari cost. The plebs can rent compute subscription for 100$ a month for 6h playtime per week and enjoy the lag.
>but AI bubble will pop
AI bubble will not pop as long as Trump is in office. He will pump 2 trillion freshly printed as long as Jensen give him back a billion or two, corruption is already in full motion.
>but the AI bubble will eventually pop Trump will not be president forever
By that time, pensions and Blackrock will be all in AI will truly be "too big to fail". This bullshit will be propped by both sides and dissenting people will just be checked for wrongthink by Palantir and re-educated in camps before they can act.
Nothing will go back how it was it will just get worse and worse until it collapse and get really bad.
