i feel like NAS are overpriced so is buying them off aliexpress a good alternative?
>>

yes, just know that whatever firmware it comes with will never change and will be utter shit
>>
I just got my inheritance and now I can afford 0.7 hard disk drives.

What do you mean? What do they use? Linux? NetBSD? Are they made of standard components?
Are you supergay?

>99€ for a case
Thats a pretty bad deal when even the one by fractal costs 80-90€. Learn to read descriptions, they don't sell you the whole thing
>>
>>109102144
op's listing is just a case with a sas backplane in it, you have to provide your own mobo/hdds/os
>>

yours being slightly cheaper and not having any hotswap bays isn't a better deal. while sure you shouldn't have to swap hdd's often, why would you want to deal with cable management for 6+ hdd's in a tiny ITX case?

it's just an example that OP's shit is overpriced chinkshit
>not having any hotswap bays isn't a better deal
pretty useless in a homelab setting where you can keep your drives 5+ years
>why would you want to deal with cable management for 6+ hdd's in a tiny ITX case?
i wouldn't use it for more than 2-4 drives, for anything more they have a bigger variant or you can just get a normal sized PC case where you don't have to pay the extra price for the small form factor

like i said it's not a huge deal, but i have used 6 hdds in a standard case before and it's annoying enough to swap a hdd that i would pay 10 euro more for case with hotswap bays

fair

oh and by "before" i mean "still" and since 2010... i've had to swap hdd's enough times that i wish i had hotswap bays... maybe some day i'll bother to do it, obviously it'll cost me more since i need a whole new case, which is the reason i'm saying i'd have paid the extra if given the option now
>>
>>109103327
I have that case.
The window side doesn't fit on the drive side properly, but well enough. Looks better looking at the drives.

But OP's case comes with an Iron Man suit, so that's a much better deal
