>>109104154Afaik the real time protection thing is only available if you pay (unless they changed it in the meantime). So at best you can use it to scan from time to time. If you want to do that, go ahead, there's no harm in it. It is on the slower side though and it tends to get completely stuck on some system files (at least in my experience).Their browser extension was buggy as fuck, bad enough to be completely unusable, completely freezing tabs or making them take ages to load. Maybe they fixed it, but that one's definitely a nay. Maybe it had bad interactions with other extensions/scripts. I don't know.Overall a nay, but it's free and less intrusive than other AVs so there's no harm in using it to scan every once in a while. But viruses are rather rare these days, Microsoft Defender does a decent job.
>>109104154why is everyone so focused on reaction instead of prevention?use sandboxie, goddamn.
>>109104154Install Gentoo
>>109104154I agree with the first two anons, Microsoft Defender has gotten better over the years now, its lightweight and effective with common sense.Though MB is still useful for malware scans from time to time while being one of more respectful AVs out thereThough if you are going to be finding yourself downloading a lot of stuff or running shady software, maybe spin up a VM or use Windows Sandbox or Sandboxie and isolate that stuff.
>>109104211>>109105467these.it's nice to have a MalBytes as a backup if defender does occasionally miss something or validating if either finds a false positive, but overall defender has been pretty good since win10. Defender being shit was very much true for 7 and Vista, but nowadays it's an actually pretty competent AV.
The only security measure that actually works is "A conscious user", everything else is a scam.
Doesn't do shit except slow down your computer. I have it for cheap VPN. Most of time it's turned off.
>>109104154nay, kaspersky is better
