You literally just need another hose (I cut down the one that came with it), and some kind of box you can put over the lower hole. I haven't tried running it as a single hose unit, but it seems retarded to do so when it creates negative pressure so you pull in hot air from outside or the rest of the house. With 2 hoses, pressure in=pressure out, so the only heat added to the system is through radiation and the heat of having the compressor in your room instead of outside.

Honestly, I should've bought one years ago. I've been running it on and off all day, if it does this well later in the week when it's set to hit 37 here, it's paid for itself already.

I posted about all my Taobao buying before. But it has finally turned into an actual thing. This is the most fucked up, jankiest Gamecube to be assembled from junk and whatever China will sell to you. Almost everything was done dirt cheap. From Japan I acquired a Gamecube in horrible condition. Nasty faded case, rusted on the inside, just bad. But it works. That's the foundation on which this monstrosity is built. I also got some other accessories from Japan. An official memory card, a cheap Japanese copy of Wind Waker for booting the save game exploit, and Nintendo's official replica Gamecube controller for Switch 2 Online. You pay out the ass for that controller but I know it will be damn near impossible to find one in the future so might as well suffer now.

Now a further inventory of my shit and how I made all this work. The case came from Temu for about $20. The absolute cheapest deal you can get for that anywhere, as far as I know. FlipperMCE and GCVideo from the same Taobao shop, cheapo 3d printed cases on those. They're also around $20 each which is considerably cheaper than the brand name Chinese manufacturers pumping these things out. These are open source projects so it's not like it's a clone or something. A mass produced Blueretro adapter, from Taobao, is used to connect the controller. That was something like $10.

Now onto the software, firmware, bullshit. The Blueretro dev has abandoned his project but the last version of his firmware supports the NSO Gamecube controller. Updating over bluetooth using Chrome, enabling some weird switch to make it work, multiple attempts to get it to pair... Pretty fuckin jank. Not to mention it stopped working with my controller after the first time it paired so I needed to connect it up again and do a factory reset. Will continue with all the software exploit crap next.

It seems nobody uses a FlipperMCE/GCMCE to transfer save game exploits to a Gamecube to get them running. I found this process is actually straightforward. The saves are distributed as gci files but FlipperMCE wants an entire memory card as a .raw file. Easy enough to deal with. Use the memory card manager in the Dolphin emulator to create a card, keep it small enough that FlipperMCE won't complain, then import the gci saves to it. I used these two:

From there my other Gamecube related purchase comes into play, the sd2sp2. Swiss is renamed to ipl.dol on the root of the SD card so as soon as I press start in Wind Waker the exploit is triggered, goes to gekkoboot, then Swiss is launched from the SD card. Pretty damn easy.

I have had issues with FlipperMCE's mode where it makes a single memory card per game since it will stay switched into that mode after a reboot and then the exploit isn't available. I plan to fix that by copying the exploit and gekkoboot onto the official memory card but I want to back up it's previous Japanese owner's saves from 2005 first.

Forgot to mention the sd2sp2 was only $1 and you can get it literally anywhere. It was cheaper for me to order one locally even though the source is obviously China.

Pretty much. It does the most with the least. One thing I forgot to mention is that the reset button got fucked up during the install of this case. Also one of the springs for a memory card slot door just disappeared. The one that didn't disappear is always stuck open too unless I somehow cause it to drop down. At first I figured I can fix all this later but I actually don't think it's important because I will never use the reset and I will always have cards in the slots. I'm embracing the jank.
