I'm in the market for a laptop. Will probably run Linux. What's a non-pozzed option? Are Thinkpads (T line) still good? My last Linux laptop was a T470s, and I got nice mileage out of it. Also should I look at arm processors? They seem to be quite good.

any laptop will be fine
the only arm laptops that work with linux are apple1 m1 and m2 and maybe some chrome books

What's a good option with at least 20 cores and 32 GB ram? I enjoy my desktop with a 7950x, would love some kind of comparable performance, but that's probably not realistic

focus on battery efficiency, aesthetics, screen quality, strong chassis, nice keyboard and touchpad
chasing performance in a laptop is a fool's errand

You're probably right. I'm just salty about the work laptop I've been using for the last 3-4 years being absolute shit that can't even open a few tabs without choking. But probably at least 75% of the fault is just Winblows.

probably some piece of shit macbook which sounds like it should suit you perfectly considering you're a fucking faggot.

>im in the market for frying my balls with hot x86 mobile processors
get a macbook instead if you’re gonna undergo the humiliation ritual might as well get good quality

I got a Lenovo T14s Gen 6 ThinkBook laptop (Intel Ultra 7 … not the AMD Ryzen or Qualcom Snapdragon versions) back at the start of the year and I put Linux Mint on it and it’s been working great so far. This isn’t the very latest Mint but whichever one was current back in January.

For ARM, only the macbook m1/m2 are worth using in Linux or possibly the CIX based cheap shit. some tinker trannies reverse engineering macbook hardware is somehow beyond the capability of Qualcomm engineers.

Just a "funny coincidence" goy!

can confirm, I tested this last week at work. my daily laptop is 2 years old, grabbed an 8 year old laptop with less RAM. then compiled sqlite, took 3 minutes on windows on the new laptop, 54 seconds on linux on the old laptop, its absolutely ridiculous
>>
>>109105948
arm is a meme as of {present day, present time}, get x64 or go the full mile and get a riscv framework
>>
>>109105948
I still got T420.
If you want to upgrade your T470s is still good.
If you MUST upgrade, got for T14 then.
