How do I edit a pdf's metadata including the xmp info? I tried opening in notepad and editing just the dates because you know, we need it to go back a few weeks, but couldnt get the pdf to open after that. Exiftool leaves a trace that it has been edited so thats no bueno. Seems like all the online website tools use exiftool.

How do i do this? Im not a software developer or anything but i can run simple command line commands. Thank you

notepad doesn't respect encoding. your pdf was likely in utf-8, but notepad decided to convert it to utf16. get a proper editor like notepad++ if you just need to make small edits like metadata
