Google is testing a new reCAPTCHA that asks you to wave your hand at your camera.

The reason: AI can now solve every traditional CAPTCHA. traffic lights, crosswalks, fire hydrants, distorted text. all defeated. bots pass them faster than humans.

>bots pass them faster than humans
They always did. It's been almost a decade since deeplearning BTFOd those captcha systems

I see clips like this all the time, but is it possible do it at this quality in real time at this point? WAN takes minutes to generate short videos, so I assume not.

Yes and it has been for several years now.
You're a moron

you don't even need a proper discreet gpu for this

Technically they have that information if you set up biometrics on Android, but they should know better than to get normgroids comfortable doing this.

>We'll use images or videos of your hand for verification purposes.
Forever. We want to keep your hand on our database, to verify it's you when we catch you through our other surveillance systems.
>Images from your movements won't be stored
We keep the video though. Also a single picture doesn't display a movement. So we may also keep one. Preferably the one where your face is also visible.
>By continuing, I consent to Google processing my hand movements for the purpose of security verification to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
See, it's only that. This is for your own good, stop worrying. And your images most probably won't hit a positive of someone on our naughty list
>The information we collect will be used and stored in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy
Wich allows you to analyse and keep the other data as we please. Hitting next is equivalent of consenting and signing a multipage contract. It's your responsibility to carefully read the binding terms before you agree. So feel free to do so... BTW your google meets meeting starts in two minutes.

It's not possible. I'm a 240 IQ AI researcher and this is just impossibel for the current tech. These are cgi videos done over the course if a few days then set up to look like they're realtime.

people are literally using gmod+obs virtual camera to bypass similar shit on other sites
site owners (not the same as data collectors) don't care if it's your real face or gordon freeman smiling on camera, all they care is that it really deters scraper bots that would rather move on and scrape another site than waste compute on it
>>
>>109119068
yeah Google totally just site owners dont want bots scraping the web
>>
>>109111669
Anon these are used to train AI.
It’s never been about stopping bots. Since the very beginning captcha was a system to gather large amounts of public data for training vision models. Stopping bots was just a convenient side effect.
Now you have to wave so they can train AI models that detect and respond to human behavior.

>>
>>109120476
but 7 is a random number between 1 and 10
>>
>>109119643
This well said, and did they ever really defeat the bots? Not really. true bot protection came in 1993 with proof of work.

If you dont want to provide a retina scan and a blood sample to see the current weather forecast i suggest anons start building central serverless. Sites like hashchan dont need cloudflare or captchas
>>
>>109119643
Correct.
Nothing you do while interacting with a captcha is ever to prevent bots. That's all done the second the captcha is activated. Your digital id is verified in their database with whatever social credit points you have. ID's with low enough social credit will get more impossible/auto fail captchas or straight out blocked. Clicking images, inputting text, ect, that's all just AI training and always has been.
