>>109114927It's playable with rt off, by the way.The steam machine is great, because it creates a reverse pressure on games to offer an easy setting that's not demanding.Previously, they could claim a game "runs" on low gear. But now, reviewers will all have steam machines. All will have steam machines. And every game will have a steam machine score given by the reviewers :^)Now, game makers will face SIGNIFICANT pressure to optimize to that one target, the Steam Machine.Let's think of this as a reverse MPC standard. We'll call this LPC 1. It's a downward test, does it look good and play well at the LPC 1 level? LPC 2 will be beefier. And so it might be like>this game is an LPC 3 level game only. All in all, don't complain, finally you'll get useful information from all reviewers, even the incompetent ones. all they have to do is literally load the game up in their steam machines.

Nobody actually NEEDS a PC with the Gabecube's dimensions. If they say they do, it is because they are lazy beyond lazy and do not wish to clean up and move a few things around. Paying a premium for the form factor is a complete waste of money, which could have better gone towards an ITX build, which then typcially already comes with its own price premium over mATX and above but at least it will have non-mobile-tier components. This is approaching Nintendo levels of paying for the brand label on the box, except at least Nintendo maintains an iron grip on their exclusives. You want to pay 1000+ burger dollarydoos for a machine made for playing indieslop on the big screen (but apparently not enough space in the living room for a cheap but larger conventional PC?).
