What's with the influx of people on /g/ thinking you need more than 1080p?I'm on a 1366x768 laptop and it works fine for me, anything more is luxury.Scaling is completely solved at 1080p too.
1080p is understandable but 768 is ancient.1440p is good if you have a larger screen and 4k is retina.
>>109116159I recently upgraded to 1440p and I have no clue what to do with the space or how to utilize it. Scaling is absolutely fucked as well. Its probably a bunch of GAYmers and artfags. And, to be fair, Xonotic looks amazing at 1440p...
>>109116159At this point 4chan overall is filled with elitist predditors who'd never miss the chance to flex their devotion to spend money on goyslop. Don't worry about their insignificant thought process and just use what you like and can afford to use.
>>109116159I need 4k because it looks awesome and I use my PC for media too
>>109116159You don't need anymore than 1024×768 for a laptop
>>109116159Yeah, it works fine and I liked my little 1366x768 laptop in the past, but I'd be full of shit if I said I liked it better than my current 2560x1600.
>>109116159Kek you clearly dont do any actual work on it then
>>109116237>yea bro let me get a 4k laptop then scale all the UI 2.5xlmao retard
>>109116159I wish people doing crash courses on various tech like CI/CD used 1366x768 instead of 1080p. Using wide screen for work related stuff in dumb in general. Not to mention the resolution with retarded scaling. And my eyesight is not bad at all, it's just scaling being stupid, impossible to watch from a tv screen of a phone in portrait mode. Can't informationmaxx while on the shitter.
>>109116237Right, nobody ever did any work on computers until 1080p monitors came out. It's impossible to fit code on a 1366x768 screen, the text just doesn't fit
>>109116240Why would you scale the UI? Weak eyes?
>>109116245They will be weak if you don't, lmao
>>109116245Every UI is designed to be used at a certain size. Why would you make shit harder to read and click on for no reason? The whole point of a higher res screen at the same size is for MORE clarity. Also yes.
My laptop starts to chug when I set the resolution higher than 768p.
i have a 1080p 14 inch laptop and it's almost too many pixels even at that small. maybe it's good on MacOS, but it doesn't work in windows or linux
why use better thing when you can just use worse thing?
>>109116459>more expensive = betterExplain why, without sounding stupid
>>109116159>anything more is luxury.ok i guess>>109116534visual clarityis this a bot thread or something
>>109116618>visual clarityI said without sounding stupid. Either you can see images and read text on your screen or you can't. You're paying exponentially more performance to render at a higher resolution so you'd better have a really good reason. Do your eyes glaze over and your vision gets blurry when you look at a 1080p screen?
>>109116742even 1440p looks pixelated once you've used 4k
>>109116159i can just run a game at 1080p in a window if i need to on my 3440x1440 monitor. or i can upscale it, or i can run it at native res. its not really a question of 60fps, its more a question of 144fps
>>109116759>mfw I can see pixels on my screen that displays images using pixels
>>109116159>What's with the influx of people on /g/ thinking you need more than 1080p?Are you slower than Internet Explorer?
The world is crazy.
>>109116159Looks incredibly cramped if you want two source files side by side + a sidebar.
>>109116793Side-by-side is useful for when you're reading both source files at once (1 per eye)I'm often jacking off when I code so my hands aren't available to alt+tab at a moment's notice
>>109116742>Either you can see images and read text on your screen or you can'tthe text and images look better on the higher resolution screen>You're paying exponentially more performance i upgraded my computer before upgrading my monitor it's not a problem
>>109116806I know you are being sarcastic but this is unironically how /g/aymers think.
