Almost every person I see uses a iPhone. Almost every zoomer and even old people use iPhones. I sometimes see Samsung phones but almost never anything else. How did the iPhone become so popular?
>>109119226only in muttland, but the "social status based on your smartphone brand choice" is becoming a thing in europe too.And it's a good thing. Let retards waste money, they deserve it.And dont call me a jeet, because every immigrant that screams on videocalls in public transport in my city happens to use the latest iphone.
>>109119226Apple is literally a cult. They brainwash people to get into their 'ecosystem', only few manage to get back out
Samsung has an ugly candyland OS it’s a fucking mess it’s the epitome of YWNBiOS. pixel barely caught up to the iPhone 13 in powermoto is budget crap with a cool flashlight gesture Oneplus is dropping out of the marketchina phones don’t matter in the usit’s over for android
>>109119588new whiteness map just dropped
>>109119669Google can catch up if they improve the overheating chips and shitty battery life. Also they are the only ones along with motorola to offer non-flagship compact models.

>>109119226Operating System. People who start on iOS try Android and realize Android is imitation gruel. People want to use the best, not an also ran. This is true in any first world country.
Have you tried not being American?
>>109119740>the bestThe way apple tries to force you into their ecosystem of shit and artificially limited apps is enough to not use iPhone.
>>109119588>And it's a good thing. Let retards waste money, they deserve it.Oh no muh heckin $800 phone
Decent Android phones are as expensive as iPhones, so I just switched over.
>>109119896That depends on what you value.I buy cheap Chinese phones that don't have nearly as much bullshit on them as Samsung does and their hardware usually is 90-100% of what the top tier Samsung phone offers except for camera quality.
>>109119740>the bestHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>109119226can confirm went on a bus today and from younglijngs to gramps everyone had one

100 years from now, people will know what an iPhone is. People will not be able to name a single Android device or Android itself.
Yeah, I literally don't get it. You'd think I the age when you can get a RealMe on android with 8Gb of RAM for $150 people would just stop caring about brand, but it has become even more important as status somehow to have iPhones. Wrf, I recently boughted RealMe with 12Gb RAM for $250 or so and it is more than I could ever need. You would think if some Samsung Galaxy or iPhone that cost at least 5 times as much would offer something better, but it's literally not so. Fucking ridiculous how women take it as a status symbol and think android is an ick when on reality it should be pretty icky if you spend money on useless expensive shit.
>>109119226Escaping the Cult of Mac (Jason Eckert).pdfmight answer some of your questions.
>>109120276>when on reality it should be pretty icky if you spend money on useless expensive shit.being overly stingy is an unatractive trait and its not like you will take you savings into the afterlife. Literally nothing wrong with spending 50$ a month on a device people will use multiple hours per day. Like how much does the average /g/ user waste on his shitpost rig?The iphone hate would have a point if the iphone had crap hardware, but its unquestionable in the top 5 every generation
>>109120211>honeypot with hardware backdoorsproof? >try again glowie trannyneither.
>Thought I'd try an iPhone.>Asks for Passcode.>Says Passcode is wrong.>Even tho I clearly had to enter it twice in setup.>Phone keeps locking for hours after every failed attempt.Fuck me the iOS keyboard must be fucking dogshit.
>>109120344I actually used to be boughting expensive $500-900 phones back in 2010s, it made sense then because the hardware was so much better and it was literally day and night in terms of shit not lagging. The days it really doesn't matter. I don't see how not needing an iPhone is stingt, especially if I don't even like iOS and am used to android. The thing is, females will absolutely ignore these status symbols if they know you have money - they won't get the usual ick. But of course you gotta have the money.Personally, I'd say don't be buying iPhones if you don't have the money or if you don't like iPhones or both, because you owning an iPhone will not save you from the eventual ick which will surely arrive anyway. The ick is inevitable, frens and sooner or later the ick gets everyone.
>>109120407>Personally, I'd say don't be buying iPhones if you don't have the money or if you don't like iPhones or bothanon that is totaly fine. The ick is endless bitching over its msrp or how it has bad price/performance to some random chink shit.
>>109120458Well, I wasn't bitching, but I'm honestly genuinely surprised how awesome a $250 phone is these days. Before that, I had Galaxy which I boughted for something like 900eur in 2020 and been using it for 5 years, then last year I finally had to buy a new phone because Galaxy had its glass glass broken in multiple spots and was barely hanging on. But yeah, I thought why not try some chink shit and chink shit was absolutely great to the point where I couldn't imagine what Samsung or iPhone could outdo it at.
>>109120494im just describing the ick. Somebody asks about the phone? dont tell "i bought it because it was cheap", just "i wanted it" and it sounds a million times more confident.I have a 250€ snoy, why? because i wanted it for its size
>>109120531Literally not anyone has ever asked me about my phone. Or I don't remember... Like why would anyone ask you about the phone unless it's maybe 2010 and first iPhone just came out and you got it... don't remember what year it came out exactly, But anyway, we can be honest here with frens, so I'm perfectly fine admitting that I didn't want to spend a thousand bucks on a phone this time, it seemed excessive. If someone in real life asked me about my phone, I'd be very suspicious about why and what would give me the ick personally is how they can tell that it's cheap or not just by looking at it because in 2026 it's probably harder to tell iPhone from some chink shit phone rhan Airbus A320 from A 319.
>>109120344Yep. Add to it the fact you can get an iPhone on Amazon Refurbished that looks indistinguishable from new at a lower price point than Android options? They have no leg to stand on. Android is and always will be the Chevy Cavalier of operating systems. Bill Gates should've intervened and knocked it out when they had a chance. We could've had a Windows Phone competitor that becomes an x86 desktop when plugged into a monitor.
>>109120593I cannot imagine a stingier ickier behavior than buying a refurbished iPhone because it looks indistinguishable. Seek help.
>>109120247Except Samsung and Motorola. The most sold and boring phones on the face of the Earth. Good job, iPhone!
>>109119859because everyone knows that spending money on useless shit like a retard = not being broke and the reverse equals being brokeamericans truly are a special species of zog goycattle
>>109119226boomers, who also paid for their daughters phone plans (these include iphones in America)Yes it is that simple. Yes that is true in every industry and has been the key to success for decades.
>>109120362not the anon you replied to but the logo is literally a star of david. 100% NSA/IDF ran honeypot, just like literally every other thing that pretends to care about your "privacy". if the device is connected to the internet you can rest assured that it is compromised.
>>109119226i inherit one for my job every 5 or 6 years. are they jailbreaking these days or its over. clicking on a link and badabing badaboom shadow app library on tap that was cool
I think there's a perception iPhone and Apple is more secure for when you're buying stuff, apps that aren't malware etc
It's all fun and games until you get left out of the group chat after they see your green bubbles because if they added you, you'd turn an iMessage chat into an MMS group chat that splinters into many other chats and inconveniences everyone else. That FOMO will get you to get an iPhone.
>>109119226Some reasons:- First mover advantage, since it was the first "modern" smartphone, that is a fully touch-based slab with no physical keyboard (don't mention the LG Prada, that was a featurephone with a fancy interface).- Early Android (before 4.0) was kinda shit, people who tried it back then got stuck with that bad perception. - Manufacturers put Android on cheap ass devices with poor performance, if you used one of those you also got a bad perception.
Adblocked youtube and morphe alone make android a bajillion times better than ipoo
>>109120618I don’t need the help. I use my iPhone and spend less time thinking about you and your green ass bubbles than you do thinking about me. iPhones sign the front of the check, Androids sign the back. I suggest a refurbished iPhone because it’s better than any Android you can buy new at Boost Mobile.
>can use iMessage and FaceTime with others>can easily "drop a pin" to someone on Apple Maps/iMessage>don't have to worry about bloatware from manufacturer or cell provider added onto the Android OS>unless your phone is super old it'll keep getting updates and have access to the newest and most updated apps>standardized ports and accessories>if you upgrade to a newer iPhone there is little to no learning curve compared to going from something like a Samsung Galaxy to a Motorola>continuity, airdrop, iCloud>just werks with your other apple devices
>>109119669samsung dex towers above the competition though.
First to market and the power of preferential attachment (the rich-get-richer phenomenon). I had a Google Nexus One (and still do in fact) because I was heavy into their ecosystem and beta tested hardware for them at the time, it was a good little phone in its own right but any time I would use someone's iPhone, or later iPad vs Android tablets, the Apple products were notably more responsive, faster, nicer engineering and ergonomics etc.inb4 shill, I have never owned an iphone or ipad. Can't give good opinions on current phone market because I'm still using some janky old Samsung from like 2018.
>>109119226>Almost every person I see uses a iPhoneNo you don't because you don't go outside. Your entire perception of reality is based on reddit and 4chan threads.
>>109119226How do you even tell phones apart? They are all the exact same black tile. I think you might have schizophrenia or something.
>>109121250>>can easily "drop a pin" to someone on Apple Maps/iMessageYou can do the same on Android.>>unless your phone is super old it'll keep getting updates and have access to the newest and most updated apps>>if you upgrade to a newer iPhone there is little to no learning curve compared to going from something like a Samsung Galaxy to a MotorolaThese the only two benefits to iToddlers.>>standardized ports and accessoriesLOL. LMAO, even.
>>109121373Xperia has no punch hole. Non-Xperia does.
>>109121298no one uses that
iPhone works really well. It's a solid phone that isn't matched by anything else available. Android sucks and is stewarded by one of the worst companies in the world. It's not even close. That is why everyone you see has an iPhone. They're the definitive smartphone experience.
>>109119226apple is the only company that has a somewhat small phone with the 13 mini. samsung, google, china, WHOEVER IT IS please make a small phone so I can escape apple
I've been using motorola the last decade. got a X style in 2016, then a g8 power in 2021, and an edge 60 pro two weeks ago. idk why more people don't use moto phones, they work fine and at a good price.
>>109121250>don't have to worry about bloatware from manufacturer or cell provider added onto the Android OSThis is an understated point. Apple has a stranglehold on phone companies here. Remember VCAST? Apple wrecked that stupid shit. Meanwhile, Androids come with not just the phone manufacturer’s bum ass software but in some cases the phone companies bum ass software too. Layer One UI and VZ Messages on top of an already inferior Android and the only people who put up with it are people who don’t know any better.
>>109119226Its a USA thing and its mostly because of iMessage. The rest of the world likes to get zuck cucked but at least that doesn't limit them to a specific company's hardware.
>>109121016> apple's walled garden keeps the malware out and your wallet locked in.
>>109119683kimmy got an iphone
>>109121090Apple has a really nasty trick they pull with iMessage. I bought an iPhone once to see what it was about, didn't like it and returned it after a week. But to all my friends and family I texted during that time, their iPhones registered my phone number as one that also has an iPhone. So when I switched back to Android, their iPhones kept trying to send me messages over iMessage's protocol instead of SMS so I couldn't receive anything. I legit lost my chances with a bad bitch because it seemed like I was ignoring her when really it was Apple cucking my texts.
>>109122222Quints of truth. It is true they run a bit of a scam on iOS side with Messages. For a time they almost opened the protocol to Android. But Android is third world, and they decided against it. Now they have RCS but intentionally treat it like a red headed stepchild.
There's obly one choice of you know phones are shit, destroy your attention span, but still want to gps and a web browser with no ads, and care not if it ever gets stolen, and that's GraphmemeOysterSauce.
