i have not updated for so long that i do not even understand the idea of updating anymore - like after 5 years of not updating a single thing ( other than Steam and Brave ), this whole concept of updating is losing its touch on me.

That it is a good thing.

Understandable since winshit 11 is bottom line unusable
That said, win 11 is shitty too

kek, like who the fuck would anyone upgrade? like seriously the point of an os is to be an unmoving env where you do your shit.
>>
>>109135337
Updates are optional. The important thing is that software devs can't just abandon Windows 10 now "because it's unsupported".

Enjoy your laggy UI and higher RAM usage.

Whoa... so this is the power... of 5.20 GHz base clock with 64 GB of ram...

My last job gave me a Windows 11 laptop to work on and it was miserable. 11 is like Vista and 8 all over again. So much worthless shit all over the place.

The problem is that installing any Windows 10 updates will install nagware that tells you to update to Windows 11.

there is a 100% chance your processer has fTMP (firmware level tpm) in it. check your bios to enable it.

THIS IS WHAT THEY SHIP. Every wintroon talks about Linux being a tinkertranny OS but with windows you have to babysit the whole thing to stop it from adding ai, sending home telemetry, making sure ads don't pop up, removing default apps. No, I do not want to spend even 30 seconds of my life configuring a RIGHT CLICK MENU. The context menu that comes with the OS should work. I have never been using Linux or even macOS and thought "I could use a new context menu!". Windows is a humiliation ritual.

I was about to ask: If you don't update, why do you care if Win10 is still getting updates or not? But

Indeed.

(Anyway Windows 10 is shit.
Microsoft, open source Win7 you cowards!)
>>
The problem is that your beloved Windows 10 keeps getting updated by the very people who made Windows 11 what it is...

Literally me going from 7 to Linux, It pissed me off cause I'm like "oh my god I could've switched in 2018 and built a ryzen rig instead of staying with windows but I was an idiot etc"
>>

The moment win 10 stops working, im installing linux. Win 11 is garbage. Im not upgrading my hardware.
>>
>>109136941
>You're just being tossed a bone and strug along
What's hilarious no matter how hard winfags try in their pointless rebellion and fight the updoot, they eventually fucking updoot just slower, We went from holding onto XP for dear life to 7, and then Windows 10 suddenly "became good" when 7 lost support, so now that's the OS to cling to, I wonder what it would take in the way of Microsoft fucking them for these people to say "holy shit windows is cooked"

It really is, I myself was using older, slower, less efficient computers, just so I could keep using Windows 7 because it was familiar I believed it to be the most lightweight and fast thing ever (it's actually not) meanwhile Linux on a brand new computer goes faster than Windows ever could, and it doesn't even have to be some tweaked up distro you make yourself, could be the already built Mint XFCE and it's like injecting steroids into a computer.

>still 24% of the market 5 years after W11's introduction
I don't even think 7 enjoyed such a retention rate that long after it's successor was introduced
>>
>>109137031
Its probably the tpm bullshit keeping because lots of machines can't go higher than 10, because any machine that ran 7 can run 10.
>>
>>109135243

>>
>>109137090
ltsc
>>
>>109135337
That's because 10 is feature complete.
>>
>>109136086
Ok, listen, why did you update? like i am not even a linux guy, but Windows essentially has to be updated / installed once every 5 years or so and then after that you run a few scripts to delete the updating process so it is impossible to update without reinstall. that way, you get a windows that will work for 5 to 10 years.

you no longer need to tinker, you no longer need to care. just do not updood every ... idk how often normies updood.
>>
>>109137105
He is right though, it makes me laugh when people act like Linux is some unusable thing out of the box, meanwhile they'll say oh, just disable several components of the Windows 10 or 11 and you're good, just the idea that Windows needs do be "debloated" or have the updates disabled because they're so intrusive, means you should stay as far away from it as possible.
>>
>>109135243
Name 5 things win11 improves over win10
>>
>>109137118
it depends on the scripts, but you are right in general. still there are some scripts, especially the ones where you preconfigure some of it that make windows debloating quite easy.

>>109137128
name 1. even the ones i was going to name in the past are added to win 10 , win 11 is literally a worse OS in all cases.

I love my NT 5 OSes, but 7 SP1 was pretty much the superlative Windows, I don't know why people even bother with Windows 10 or 11, if you're can't use Windows 7 because your machine is too new, just use a Penguin OS
>>
i didnt even bother with scripts and whatnot on this most recent re-install of 11. just removed as many appxpackages as i could and a quick run through gpedit.
>>

>>
>>109135243
11 is in some ways better. It's false that w10 is the best.

If you really want to go back to good windows, you'll need to get a CD with qnix on it.

To be fair, you can blame your IT Department for that a bit too. They probably installed so much surveillance shit on the machine there's little to no RAM for you to work with.

Windows at work is ass though. So glad I'm on a MacBook instead.
