I have a much different concept of a “homelab” than you unemployed troons.

Pens, pencils, and papers.

Why yes I can repair a GPU, NVMe SSD, and a DDR5 memory module. My side hustle is crushing right now.

homelab to me is the woodshop lab from school. they had c&c computer machines that could print designs on wood. the software worked on windows 98.

I have a refract reactor from alibaba, a flow hood and fume hood, incubator, pcr machine (it’s broke though) and various glassware/vwr/reagents. Oh grow tent and prop chamber with all the fixings

It’s impressive for a home lab but literally nothing compared to where I work.

Just a laptop. Let me guess, you need more.

A hand-me down comp no one was using that was actually very nice at that time (8years ago), two used systems that when I bought were already mid and ages were shy of retiring but they were good deals as at the time I knew the upgraded parts for them were cheap. Could not do that today! Then have like 5 raspberry pis I use for a variety of things including as a dedicated server, another to convert old computer speakers into wireless home speakers, and managing some of my older systems which have needed remote start solutions not possible with the hardware given.

Depends what you're doing.
I've got an sbc in mine, because I'm writing code for it and emulators can't be trusted.

A server I built that lives in a Define 7 case and two routers running OpenWRT. The server is for filesharing and VMs mostly. I do have an ancient old tower that I could fix and maybe try getting a k8s cluster or ceph node running on as a cool project.

Just an r630 with dual e5 2699v4s in it. It's fun to mess around with enterprise stuff.
