>>109155696>Any usecases for it? Tell me your ideas /g/. What can I do with it?I installed Windows XP on my Dell Inspiron 8600 and I use it to play old games and run old game mod tools like Smacker 2.0 that don't run on modern windows. I don't know about your laptop model specifically, but the 8600 also has an S-Video port so I can use it with some of my CRT TV's as well so I can run my emulators on a "proper" display.Basically, just use it for old emulators and legacy applications. I see your machine has a Centrino CPU like mine, but what kind of graphics does your machine have? My 8600 is from 2004 and it has the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5200 graphics, which is actually powerful enough to play Half Life 2. So this thing was able to play AAA releases in 2004, which is pretty good for the time all things considered. To their credit, DELL still has drivers for your laptop if you need them and it looks like your machine was supported right up until the end of Windows XP in 2014.https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-us/product/latitude-d600/drivers

>>109156138no prob bbyAlso, if you ever fuck your shit up this repair shop in Texas still works on these things. Vid related isn't your or my exact model, but it's that same era. His website also has lots of new old stock Dell parts from all eras because they buy out the stuff Dell is getting rid of and they've been in business for 20+ years at this point. So if you ever need a disc drive or something they might have it.https://www.youtube.com/live/KqtIJSYNArU?si=r7m3e1Ksa1Ud5WoP&t=82
>>109156220Dedicated VPN for starters. Then you can set up anything you want on your LAN later and have access them remotely from any device. Including your own "cloud" storage....but also lets say you build a real blower of a machine, or some bulky liquid cooled monster tower, you can have access to the same performance on your phone. That will most likely not be suffice to share VPN access with others, but it probably be good enough as a dedicated VPN server for just you.
