>/g/ makes a 21st album
Theme: Wizard music
Title: [Accepting suggestions]
Deadline: Sat 1st of August
Listening party: Sat 8th of August

>/g/ makes a 22nd album
Theme: remixes, remakes, and music based on previous /dmp/ songs. (5th anniversary special)

>How to submit a song for the album
You can upload audio here without a login:
https://catbox.moe/
https://dmpproductions.org/mediaboard?thread=14
Other services can be used, as long as the download is publicly accessible.

Create a post in /dmp/ with a link to the song.
AI policy:
- "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation.
- You are allowed to ask an AI about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is prohibited.
- AI-generated stems are banned.
- AI-based tools can be applied (eg. stem separation), but in your submission you MUST declare what tools you used and where.
- Every song submission, regardless of AI usage, should include some level of proof that the song was not AI-generated. This can be a DAW screenshot.
- The album organiser reserves the right to reject a submission if it is deemed that AI was used too heavily.
- If you are unsure about aspects of the AI policy, do ask.

Optionally, you can attach cover art, lyrics, and an artist name to your submission. The artist name cannot be one you use on other platforms.
Songs that break YouTube's rules won't be uploaded there, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your song. Light-touch mastering is sometimes applied to improve the coherence of the album.

what is the point of any of this? its just a tool like daw, why do you have to be a luddite on /g/ of all places?

not the person who wrote the AI policy, but the world doesn't really need more regurgitated crap, and that's kind of AI's thing is just shitting out played out garbage with no endgame. if you think anything it makes has value, you deserve to consume the bugs basically

Nobody can tell the difference as long as the sound quality is good enough. I put AI generated stuff where people don't want AI and they believe is just something obscure. I put old songs in the AI music thread and nobody notices.

AI shills always have this weird obsession with creating "gotchas" as if humans haven't been making slop long before AI optimized shitting it out. kind of like a tranny being obsessed with "passing", it knows its true nature and obsesses over concealing it

Think for two minutes what would happen if AI-generated audio tracks were allowed. /dmp/ would be reduced to no more than >>>/wsg/aimg - everyone putting the latest slop out whilst not really caring about the tracks other people generated. Any high-effort content would be flooded out.

For me to allow that would be like the olympics allowing people to ride motorbikes in the marathon.

The reality is that music production is in the process of being consigned to hobby status, akin to the fate of pottery and basket-weaving when those got mass-produced. We do things this way both because we enjoy it, and because we like to share in each other's creative achievements.

AI-generated audio tracks (I will not call it music) is deficient in one crucial component - creativity - that would normally guide every small decision which led up to the final song. That is much more important in art than anywhere else.

>trying to explain the value of something non-concrete like art, creative expression to an AI shill
good fuckin' luck with that
>>
all these AI rules are cringe, it's not 2024 anymore

I was able to find a non ai vocaloid type for my remake. I did try first singing it but was not happy with my voice as it sounds too opera-y and doesnt fit. I will end up doing some backing vocals in falsetto for it regardless. Regarding the ai rules, I am not interested in seeing how well people can use a prompt. I want you to slave over a midi item like me.

you're moving the goalposts and coping by calling everything slop. you're not even willing to consider michael jackson to be a good artist because you're old enough to have heard his music get spammed on the radio. artists are making millions of dollars using literal AI music while you're just seething like a cuck.
