Anyone else collecting a shit ton of used/old smartphones and hoarding them because they know the RAMpocalypse is here and all smart phone manufacturers will up their prices to oblivion? Not for reselling, but like for emergencies. It should last me for a decade of no upgrades or new purchases.

>>109174213Custom ROM doesn't break banking apps, but rooting does.
>>109174359oh get fucked with your snappy slogans, jeet. it's a known issue in the "official" thread that this particular bank app refuses to work on GrapheneOS since it relies Google's integrity APIs. in fact, rooting, the thing you claim to break banking apps, might be the only way to get it to work on a custom ROM, since you could tell the app you're on a stock ROM and hide root from it.
>>109174645I guess my specific bank doesn't care then. My phone doesn't pass integrity check at all.
>>109174661mine gives a warning but doesn't block any functionality. one bank actually acknowledges the existence of GrapheneOS and actively fixes issues with it. another worked fine with it for a while, but then it broke and they don't seem to want to fix it. others simply won't accept anything other than stock iOS or stock Android.i think the one that actively supports Graphene is the best option, since it shows they're serious about security and they're not likely to walk back on it in the future now that they have a significant customer base autistic enough to quit over it.

New Jerryrig. $9,000 Foldable.https://youtu.be/BqQ86_MIvp8?is=ODKqctLX79mgfbrT
Alright, so, I don't really care much for phones. I have used this "A03", I think, for several years now, for two things; daily usage, and for browsing 4chinz. Now however, it is unbearable to use, aside from the screen having cracks, it has this ghost touch issue that makes it go completely haywire and type a bunch of things, or not work at all. It's unbearable.I'm going to upgrade, and I found one that seems to be rather cheap, an...A06? I don't really know the difference. So, I'll ask for you lot, are there any issues with that phone? Is it fine if you don't really care about phones at all besides taking calls and using the browser when you're waiting for something, or is it gonna explode in my pocket?I'm not even gonna talk about privacy or whatever because every single smartphone is a walking wiretap device and there's no way to get around that unless you're willing to sink far more time and energy and money than I am.
>>109177717There's a successor to the A06, which is the A07. Actually there are two A07 phones - the 4G version and the 5G version. Both of them get 6 years of security updates from their release date. The A06 seems to be worse - the 4G version apparently only gets 4 years of security updates according to GSMArena, and it was released nearly 2 years ago, so it's only going to get another 2 years:>The Galaxy A06 has two major Android upgrades in its future and four years of security patches.https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a06-review-2743p4.phpThe A07 4G was released in August 2025 so it gets updates until August 2031. See the specs section here:https://www.samsung.com/za/smartphones/galaxy-a/galaxy-a07-green-128gb-sm-a075fzggafa/The A07 5G was released in January 2026 so it gets updates until January 2032. See the specs section here:https://www.samsung.com/ae/smartphones/galaxy-a/galaxy-a07-5g-black-128gb-sm-a076ezkcmea/Or if you want slightly better features then you could look at the better phones in the same range: the A17, the A27, the A37, the A57. Or you could look at the previous models for each of those (A16, A26, A36, A56).Just have a look at the specs for each one and decide which one you like.

>>109178535Okay well you haven't actually talked about the A06. I want to know about that one because there's a cheap one. I'm not some kind of hobbyist trying to get the "best stats", I literally just use it to browse 4chan while watching TV.
