its getting very difficult to find really small USB mobile battery packs with small capacity like 1000 mAh -> 2000 mAh

they are commonly selling 5000 mAh and upwards mostp popular stuff is probably a battery pack of 10 000 mAh

BUT a 1000 mAh would take very little space to carry around and altough it wont recharge your entire phone in need, it helps a little, buyes some time

who cares? what retard would use this over a battery that actually holds 1 full charge

That one is good in that it stays on with very little current draw. Most power banks need a relatively high current or they shut themselves off.

just find a vape on the side of the road and make your own. why are you retarded?

so build your own from an 18650 cell
3D print the case
make an instructable and/or submit to hackaday
become famous h4xx0rman and get all the trim and cash
be the change you want to see in the world

Anon they are called "lipstick style battery banks" they sell them at literally every walmart and target.
>>
>>109175914
As battery Wh/KG energy density keeps going up, there's little demand for them anymore. Picrel is around 300 Wh/KG which seems to be the limit of anything actually commercially viable at the moment but 400 Wh/KG should be attainable within the next few years or so. You can still jerry rig your own and find some chink ones but magsafe battery banks are the future desu.

Power banks are already fairy niche, I got four from a store's rewards program since I figured it'd be a decent way to convert points to cash. It took me almost an entire year to sell three (kept one for myself) because pretty much everyone I asked went
>I can charge at work/school
>My battery lasts long enough that I can wait until I get home
And these were all 10000 mAh units, now imagine something even more situational like a 1000 mAh

>wireless meme
That's the most retarded shit I have ever seen. 5000mAh (actual 4600mAh), half of it wasted in heat, half of it slowly charging your brick in two hours. Meanwhile, a cabled one will charge it fully in 30 minutes.

I jut carry spare battery for my phone if I really need it.

You can get what's called "Credit card power banks" they are designed to fit in your wallet and are 1600-2500mah.

t have one for my old iphone

Wireless charging has mostly been fixed with with Qi2.

>"While the Qi2’s current wireless charging rate of 15W is still slower than USB Power delivery based wired charging speed"
>"WPC has mentioned that faster charging versions are next in the pipeline after the confirmation of initial specifications."

>"Standardization of magnet strength, size, and dimensions under Qi2 creates an MPP that allows energy transfer efficiency to reach levels of up to 85-90%"

https://www.graniteriverlabs.com/en-us/industry-insights/qi2-wireless-charging-mpp-wpc

Conservative estimate of usable mAh goes like this:

A) Converting 3.6V battery DC to 9-12V AC : 85% x 5,000 mAh = 4250 mAh

B) Qi2 efficiency: 80% x 4250 mAh = 3400 mAh

However if you're terrified of losing that 20% mAh capacity, cable charging is still possible.

>"You can also use the USB-C port to charge your phone and earbuds."

One reason is that cell capacity is now getting so big that you'll be hard pressed to find anything in the 1000-2000 mAh range.
21700 cells are now reaching 6500mAh range, where as 18650 is a 4000mAh.
Even AA sized 14500 cells can push 1500mAh.
You might have to simply change your search parameters to find stuff.
Instead of searching by cell capacity, just look for "18650 powerbank" etc..

thanks anker shillbot. if that's true then show real use data. hook it up and charge, and see the resulting transfer, that should be easy to publish. in perfect theory from your industry shill article it's "up to" 85-90%, which still means you could carry a battery at most 85-90% the size and weight instead. reminder the point of a bank like that is it's portable.this also completely ignores variance in phones and thickness of cases causing further losses, and the wattage being much lower = slower charge. your article also makes the ridiculous claim that it's more environmentally friendly to waste that 15% as heat, every charge, all the time, than just use a cable. heck if you want "wireless" go with a pogo pin setup and get 100% efficiency.

>reminder the point of a bank like that is it's portable
Isn't that what wireless charging does? Not having to juggle around cables sounds pretty fucking portable to me desu senpai.
It just sucks that the practical maximum range for high efficiency Qi2 charging is like 1 millimeter.
Like it's scientifically feasible to depopulate India in 48 hours but sorry senpai, 1 millimeter is the max range for wireless charging...

Anon, what you want is a case for a normal ass lithium battery. With the usb connector it turns teh battery into a bank. It's even better because once the battery is dead you can just flip it open and replace it.

Not fake nor gay, battery tech has simply been progressing at a great pace in the last few years.

>>109175914
Who fucking cares? Are you going to bitch about them not selling 128MB SD cards anymore next? You can get a two pack of 5000mAh power banks for $10. There is zero reason to ever want to get something that could maybe run a USB fan for an hour.
>>
>>109175914
Just get a chink 5000 mAh battery, you'll be doing pretty good if you get 1000 out of it.

SIXTHGU 5000 mAh power bank. Look at it and tell me if you really believe this is going to be 5000 mAh, or if it's more likely to be the small lower capacity thing you're looking for.
>>
>>109178107
I'd assume that the voltage booster uses some power even with nothing plugged in, so disconnecting the battery prevents this waste. Professionally made power banks probably use a microcontroller and can enter deep sleep, so a button is enough
>>
Attom Tech 3000 mAh battery. I really doubt it holds anything near that, but it's quite compact.
>>
>>109175914
M8, you can DIY one. All it takes is a single li-ion cell and a post stamp sized circuit board. Solder 2 wires, make a case. Done. Also it will cost close to nothing.
>>
>>109178894
I've had 3 commercial power banks. Two of them worked like that, with a button to wake it up, and it goes to sleep after some time of no power draw. One I'm guessing puts some minuscule voltage on the outputs all the time, because it wakes up automatically when I plug in most things. It still has a button to wake it up if that fails, and goes to sleep after a while if nothing is drawing power anymore. And it stays charged for many months of not being used despite this auto sense feature.
>>
>>109178937
Don't solder to the battery. Nothing bad will happen unless you hold the iron there for like 5 minutes, but everyone will scream at you that you're an absolute fool for soldering to a battery.
>>
>>109177524
there's a fix for that, and it only costs 50 cents on a 3D printer
>>
imagine the lithium fire haha
>>
>>109175914
Modern 18650 li-ion cells with discharge current ratings suitable for mobile drive charging (so on the low range) are all above 3000 mAh.
>>
my new phone is 7300 mah, why would i carry another gadget for mere 1k-2k mah that also needs recharging itself ?
