are codes of conduct good or bad for software repositories? my vibecoded open source project gained some traction, what should I put in the coc?

I am embarrassed to be British.

You should put a knife in your coc.

The filthy pair of chav cunts want to clean their council house and stop shaking the baby instead of wasting the Universal Credit and child allowance on computer games.

put your coc(k) in it or some BNWO shit for the rust devs who will improve your shit.
>>
>>109176752
The COC(K) should say that only straight white cis men and Claude can contribute.
>>
>>109176752
They are bad.

-This project is maintained under the Geek Feminism code of conduct, after you copy and paste it into notepad and then clear the entire document. In other words, there is no code of cuckduct.
-In addition to the previous point, by using and/or contributing to this software, you agree not to open GitHub issues for bullshit licensing violations or any other autistic reasons.

>instantly announce to everyone looking at your project that you're not interested in being a mature adult and have retard /pol/brain
ok

what about those people is mature or adult?
>>

Write a code of conduct that requires all contributors to include the word "NIGGER" in their PR or be blacklisted from the project, no exceptions

I explicitly avoid contributing to projects if I see a CoC. Why would I waste a second of my lifespan helping a project that includes such an anti-freedom corporate rulebook? I think there are many that feel the same way, especially when they see how many projects do kick people out using the CoC as justification. I'm actually somewhat thankful to Gnome for being brave enough to have a CoC controversy so bad it might end up being illegal. I don't know how many more projects need to have CoC related drama before they realize its not a good idea. Personally I'm very annoyed that FreeBSD and Guix have them because those are projects I do wish I could invest some of my time into, but the creator of Guix actually said he is really glad he added a CoC which was very sad to see.
Regarding projects that just say "no fascists" they're just not serious and will never get real adoption. Chimera Linux will always be niche, antiX will always be overshadowed by MXLinux simply because they don't say "proudly antifascist" on the website. If you hate freedom (which includes the freedom to have opinions you don't like) you don't belong in Free software. Reminds me of people who get mad that VPN companies support the "far-right". Stop throwing them in jail for mean tweets then retard.
>>
>>109176752
we're cooked if this is real.
>>
>>109176752
Sometimes they're decent.
The "don't stir shit" ones are decent, now when there's a lot of leftist internet words and special privileges shit, they're bad.
And the ones where stalking people outside of the github are horrible.
>>
>>109176752
But what if the game sucks?
>>
>>109176752
CoC is strictly unnecessary. If a contributor is being an asshole to the extent that it causes problems for the development of the product, you can kick them out without needing a rule to point to.

Basically just write: "I reserve the right to remove any contributor from the project for any reason."
