What would be the point of doing this at time of rapid increases in both flash memory and hard disk drive costs?
>>109177410It's good we don't need more future e-waste garbage especially when it comes to climate change. If you have ps5, you should be able to own internet.
>>109177434>climate change
>>109177434Are you actually retarded or just pretending to be?
>>109177434>Climate change Not based in reality like COVID
>>109177410Laurie "you vill strem ze games"
>>109177434We need to punish the peasants to stop muh climate.
>>109177410>What would be the point of doing this at time of rapid increases in both flash memory and hard disk drive price margins?Fixed
>>109177434we need to 'billions must die' to stop muh e-pollution
>>109177410Those increased costs are paid by (You). The increased profits from digital games that you can't resell when you're done playing them, are had by (((them))).
The goal is shift movies to be licenses.>oh you want to buy that new avengers capeshit on disc to watch whenever with your friends? Fuck you pay a subscription.
>>109177410You know why.
Subscriptions are UBI for corporations.
>>109178318>the "present" is 1950 AD>rightmost point is 95 years before "present" = 1855 ADAm I not reading this right?
>>109180308it's not very clear, but if i were to guess i'd say 1950 is the start of the red part of the line at the end, as in the start of the modern era spike. the right number being 95 is probably just because they made the left 10,000 and the right just didn't happen to land on 0. idk how old this graph is but i doubt it ends on 1950 or 1855, that wouldn't make much sense
>>109180308>>109180331actually i found some stuff explaining it and you're actually right, the "present" there is 1950 and the data ends on 1855, so it's pretty damn useless
Games are installed from disc regardless these days, drives are too slow to read data in real time with the level of assets used in modern games.Gaming is just unaffordable.
>>109180424What will happen in the future where only those making $200K+/yr can afford to play new release video games?
>>109177410$20 bucks says sonyfags will defend this
>>109180445>imagine a world where the Neo Geo is the ONLY CONSOLE
just use some sd card bullshit for physical games just like what the nintendo switch is doing shitshit goes up to 2tb meanwhile blurays and 100gb max
>>109180599are 100gb*shits retarded as fuck
>>109177410>Playstation will stop releasing games on discs in 2028 These are the worst news ever
>>109177434>climate change.commies everywhere I'm tired of you all
sony already dropped blu ray last year. this is not a surprise.
>>109177410>this at time of rapid increases in both flash memory and hard disk drive costs?35% off any 12-month membership of nvidia gforce now. the ultimate offer is at like $12 per month right now.
Physical sales are at the lowest point ever and decreasing more and more every year, its logical than they are wasting tons of resources on their discs fabs so they will just repurpose for something more profitable like memory chips
>>109178318every single place on earth is hotter now than it was 20 years agodenying climate change just seems like an ego/ideology thing because chuds insist on being contrarians even when it means being dumber than normalfags.
They should have just made physical versions (significantly) more expensive and digital copies cheaper, reflecting the real world cost difference for the company (production costs and lost profits from reselling). That way everybody should be happy. The current plan will and did just unnecessarily piss off a loud minority.
>>109180445Someone will release a cheap console full of games for kids and win.NEX was a warning, probably the final warning.
You dont need storage, games can be ai generated in the cloud
>>109180749More than zero people believe this, it's pretty saddening.
