Seriously.

Sure, he might have jumped the gun. But not by much, considering we're actually about to get AGI now.

The now infamous chanting happened in 2022, the same year the AI revolution began. That's less than four years ago. In just four years, we've gone from basically no one knowing what AI even is, to it being the single most talked about matter in the entire world.

In comparison, no other technology has advanced as quickly. What major breakthroughs happened 2018-2022? Basically nothing. 2014-2018 or 2010-2014? Same thing.

Sure, we might not have had AGI in 2022. But in the grand scheme of things, we were certainly not very far off.
And I think we might owe Ilya an apology.
