the same reason you should use windows 11 ltsc, it just works, clean UI, can disable all the telemetry if you desire, like what the fuck are you waiting for?

>>109183993Lol I don't spend all day tinkering with shit on my OS. I don't want to overwrite my systems start menu. Last time I installed classic shell my system started to get blue screens down the line anyways, turns out modifying system files on an operating system not designed for it isn't good.Either the OS works by default, or I can build a correctly working system. I do not want to install a system, and then replace half of the shit. Let me build windows up from a CLI with my own shell, then we can talk. But injecting shit into and replacing the default shell? No way. That is sketchy as Fuck, and causes obvious system instability. The difference is windows 7 didn't need to be TINKERED WITH all day, maybe just clicking a button to change default apps. I never had to "debloat" my system, and I never had to REPLACE CORE SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY. But windows 11? Its so good that they don't include an option for alternative GUIs, instead you have to install random software off the internet. I never had to "turn off the telemetry" or "disable ads" because it just fucking worked, unlike windows 11. I stopped using windows the second I installed 11 and realized I couldn't even move the fucking taskbar to the left side. Apparently they added that back in an update, but it's too late. I've had Linux installs working for multiple years now without all the bullshit, I just use them and they work exactly how I set up. Especially my servers, just untouched for multiple years with only security updates. I'm never worrying about new copilot features or trying to "turn off the telemetry".

Actually BSD runs a LOT of what Linux used to. It is just such an incomplete OS for ANYTHING you would want to use it for. I actually got one of the BSD distros up running with xfce and that was really nice. I was able to get TV to run in real time on that machine, that is the all AMD machine. BSD runs great on that. I have it hooked to a 65" TV just showing me stuff so I can glance over and stop the bot I coded. It's not that I am not smart. I can figure shit out lightning fast, Linux is super terrible. When IT came in and they switched my servers to BSD, the solar plant runs SO much goddamn smoother. We couldn't calculate outputs properly, and the counting shit was always broken on my can counter machines for 5 cent deposites, yeah I tried to run those on Linux and they had SO much down time. I had to switch those to Windows 10 IOT and that cost me a LOT of money. Why is Linux so fucking bad at EVERYTHING?
>>109184450I have all of the parts and pieces to my mouse including the hot swap boards and "proprietary battery." All 4 of them suggested that I switch to BSD, and guess who I hired. Everything fucking works. Beautifully, real time tracking, the panels actually travel with the sun now, my output is WAY up. RHEL could never keep up with BSD if it tried. I burned that contract, fuck them, canceled next quarter's payment, keep the other 2 months of my money cuz I don't need it. I hope they use it to make Linux better, maybe funnel it to fedora. The Fedora rep was a female to male tranny, I know because she was wearing the trans pin. The meme is true.

I just got a Linux related job, could the interviewer tell I was gay before I walked in the door??? I don't even have the gay voice.Thankfully I live far enough south so I don't get many trannies at my job.
I will say this about their core Windows developer team, they know how to make a good looking OS without all the bullshit they pile on top of home and pro. They let you turn all the extra bullshit off and even let me remove edge. Just like the tool I would want it to be. Everything organized and icons stay where you put them, and it remembers window placement with a few tweaks. God Linux could never keep up.
>>109184614oh it's a thing they put in their public profiles on indeed. It is good information to know prior to meeting them, staying professional and respectful. It's not that I didn't try working with them and Linux, it just couldn't keep up with the workflow. And they would spend SO many hours just holding it up. I can connect with anyone, it's part of the charm, just being connected to the higher flow. So it's nice to put that barrier up with some people, no wrong ideas. I really did try going with Linux. My suggestion for server management, learn some BSD and learn some Windows Server. The big money servers run Windows, some run Azure but those are small fry. The massive backbone for the new 10Gbe services being rolled out soon, I am currently on 1Gbe. All the fiber either run BSD or Windows. I know it sucks. Linux is just an incomplete OS, it's amazing that it works at all.

How often do you have to change and charge your AA's?
>>109184614also also, a lot of internal programs that you can only purchase through millionaire circles ONLY run on BSD, BSD is the safe choice OS for digital safes.ccm software, no Linux, no Windows, no Mac. The developer refuses even to port it. I have computers I am locked out of, that lock things into the digital river, that I have to interface with with remote software that run on HP-UX, that server needs to get retired. Thankfully the DMXiS stuff exists on BSD now, itanium is dead. The Q2OS stuff only works right on BSD, all the legal stuff runs on Windows, like PC LAW etc that connects to Windows servers run in state capitals. If you want a job in tech and limited your knowledge to Linux, branch out. Even with AI techies will be needed.
It run anything i can imaging, and it run like heat generator too in passive cooling, but it is very slow, it is hardly usable slow. It is not a stream machine. We might ask for a new contender.

Let's do some quick math:The battery your provided has 2100 mAh, a wireless mouse typically contains a battery with a capacity between 300 mAh and 1,000 mAh.Lets assume you have the best of the best:A device draining current at 300 mAh will take 7 hours to use 2100 mAh of power.Lets say your fast and can take the old batteries out, put the new ones in and charge your old batteries in 5 seconds. There are 8760 hours in a year: 8760/7 = you replace your battery approximately 1251.42 times a year. 1251.42 x 5 = 6257.1 seconds or 1.73 hours simply putting your batteries into and out of your mouse a year. Note if I wanted to change by battery out on year 3 just because I wanted to and took 2 hours to do so, you would have spent 1.73 x 3 = 5.19 hours doing the same thing over and over putting wear on your battery connectors and shell.Have you considered this?

It was more stable than any other Windows version before and after it, and seemed snappier than Vista. It just werked. I've been on Linux ever since 7 reached end of life in 2015 or whatever and things have been fine. I had to come back to Windows on work computers with 10 and 11 and it's a flaming pile of dog shit. If you've been using Windows this entire time from 7 to now, the changes were probably so small over time that you didn't really feel them, like that weird analogy about boiling frogs alive, but to suddenly return to the OS like I did, it was extremely obvious how far the quality has degraded. I wish my workplace would switch over to Fedora or something, but I doubt the IT team we have who breaks more things than they fix could manage even the simplest things outside of Windows. Their Windows permissions are so half-assed, they might as well not exist because I've found a loophole for literally every restriction they've implemented, so they're just annoyances more than security measures at that point. Literally all they have that I don't are usernames and passwords for some services we use, that they break, then ignore for days until the managers have to yell at them to fix so we can get fucking accounting and other important daily shit done. Then I have to sit down for hours and go through the backlog of everything that piled up while these faggots were jerking off or whatever instead of taking literally 5 minutes to change a setting. Anyway, so yeah, I really liked 7 as far as Windows goes.

In hindsight Vista was a much needed overhaul but at the time everyone (including myself) hated it for various reasons (much more demanding hardware requirements, UAC prompts).
