One thing about the steam machine I have considered that when you look at it with the very specific lease of 'mini PC with dedicated graphics' it's actually... relatively competitive, at it's original price it'd have been killer, but now it's kind of in line with what competition (mainly chink mini PC companies) are offering. And it probably has better warranty and service than those chink mini PCs

I agree but it's also hard for me to blame Valve or anyone else in the industry besides the hardware vendors.This is hardly a unique problem to the Steam machine. Everything is fucking terrible AND expensive at the same time and it fucking sucks.But what are they or I supposed to do about it?At best you can begrudgingly give up your money knowing that you're buying shit that isn't even spray painted gold, there isn't even any trickery, things are bad and everyone knows it.
