Why anyone still wants to use a chrome based browser is beyond my understanding.

That's what they get for not following best practices.

I had a bunch of archived threads in my chanx watcher. Anyway to recover them?

I'm tired with how brave is being cucked lately. Should I transition to Firefox? last time I tried it, it felt clunky as hell.

What's wrong with tampermonkey, exactly?

Hello /g/, complete tourist here. Is the 4chan x extension still legitimate?

The official(?) website says to install tampermonkey and click a link that runs some javascript. That raises every alarm flag I have.

You can temporarily re-enable the extension in Brave.
Just go to the extensions page, open the element inspector, select the toggle switch.
It's called <cr-toggle ... disabled>
Just remove the "disabled" at the end. That makes it possible to use the switch again. Then you just turn on the switch and it will just work.
Not sure how long this will work until they patch it out, but you can use this to get your scripts and settings back so you can export them and make a local copy.

>Do absolutely nothing
>At the specified date, the extensions stop working
>HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED?!?!?
>>
>>109187901
you cant still use violentmonkey. you have to enable developer mode. how many of your userscripts are affected by switching to a userscript manager that is mv3 compliant? 4chan-x and all the forks are pretty much fully usuable under mv3.

Under the hood, Manifest V3 strips away the persistent background pages that used to run 24/7. Instead, it forces extensions to use "service workers," which spin up to handle a quick task and then immediately shut down.

On top of that, blocking extensions can no longer intercept and read your raw network requests using the old webRequest API. They have to pass a static list of rules to the browser instead. Since the extension's background process is usually asleep and it can't spy on the actual data stream, it physically lacks the access needed to scrape your passwords or session tokens.

I guess most of you like having your data stolen. Be weary of anyone suddenly trying to force you to use v2.
