If you think Linux works for 99% of people, you have absolutely no clue what people look for in an operating system or how they use one.
The scaling is amazing on linux, No issues whatsoever. Windows 11 the desktop is laggy and the scaling sucks, as well as having less FPS and worse frametimes in games.At this point its pretty embarrassing that linux is more smooth and stable than windows 11 at this point from my experiences.VRR just werks, gaming just werks, browsing just werks.

You should email Valve and tell them to stop shipping their new console until they replace the Linux SteamOS with Windows! Ever since valve has been bankrolling linux with the steam deck in 2022, they are making a good effort to centralize and make linux actually usable with KDE, flatpak, pipewire, VRR support, HDR support. KDE is the only linux desktop that has any future to compete with windows, and so far its at the point where its getting to the polish of windows 10. It seems Plasma 5 and Plasma 6 were subpar for general desktop use but somehow they pulled it together in the last few years.Linux FINALLY has a modern display protocol with wayland that works for the future and its polished for KDE.
Running mods in WINE is a gamble.
