Maybe, but is it a webapp? No? Don't care then electron won

>>109189724>>109189727Its the only way to use linux exclusive apps , like niche toolchains, while also enjoying "modern" features (for linux) like sleep, wake up, brightness control, backlit keyboard, mute leds, etc
>>109189724yes, shitty linux devs who can't compile an simple exe for windows
windows is a set of libraries
>wsl is for people who need to do real work on windows >wine is for people who "need" to play bing bing wahoo on a Linux systemSorry, which one is the toy OS again?

>>109190679To be fair, it is sometimes kind of random if a laptop supports it. If you go to microcenter and buy a laptop some still might be lacking drivers. And good luck with chink laptops. However, most business laptops will have this functionality working. Also sleep is absolutely fucked on nvidia laptops, and I've owned 3. Even with the services enabled they can still fail after resuming from sleep. And some chink laptops can't enter deep sleep under Linux. From what I've noticed, it's mostly no name brand laptops missing:- deep sleep- touchpad functionality- fingerprint reader (almost never works unless business laptop)- backlight control- speakers- headphone jack- battery charge limiting- touch screenIt's probably 1/4th of no name laptops, I'd just guess from my hoarding. But, if you use intel/amd big name business laptops, it is pretty good. For me, that is enough. But I can understand this complaint completely, especially if you have regular hardware. The best computer is the computer you have, and if Linux doesn't support it, then they might not have those features available to them. Most people aren't going to buy a new laptop just for Linux.

>>109191473Every fucking time.
>>109190679>>109190871I use it every day and tyold is still far far away.Dell precision 3570, definetely not a chink shit, with a tbt dock and an external monitor. 20% of times the external monitor remains off after waking up the laptop from sleep and i need to smash Win+P multiple times.Legion 5 Pro 12gen, not a chink shit either and the brightness is locked at an unconfortable level making it unusable. If a few-years-old models are still unusable, I can't even imagine how bad the latest models work.
>>109189722babby's first virtual machine.
>>109190679There is no point talking about more complex scenarios like turning on the external monitor, turning off the internal screen and unplugging the docking station. There is no recovery from this, the system is stuck on a black screen and is necessary to type commands blindly or to force reboot it.
