Zebra G-750 brass barrel gel pen
when I was in japan I saw a "pencil" that had no moving parts, just a solid piece of something durable that wrote on paper. it didn't stain my hands, and wrote like a pencil though a little bit lighter than usual. what are they called and are they practical? I would think you might need to sharpen it somehow every once in a while. I don't think the pencil itself was japanese, I just saw it in a stationery store but forgot to take a pic.
I bought one of those Rotring pencils too it's pretty nice for sketching out kerbal mission plans

I actually prefer Redcircle over the original rotring, I bought the fake one after I broke the tip on the original and I was surprised to see that the inner tube is made of brass, the tips are screwed in (so the parts are tip + grip + barrel) and I don't feel any difference in amount of lead breakage.Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be possible to buy just the tip, but I'm pretty sure you can just talk to the aliexpress sellers to get one.

I was using it for drawing, I've seen many artist doing this like David Finch (it acts like normal pencil without getting smaller and smaller). If u have tendency to rotate pencil in ur hand like me u are keeping it sharp for long time, if u need darken big spot it can be done easly with 2mm.Sweet spot for drawing seems to be around 0.7-0.9. But in general for drawing if something works for you it works and stick with it.

Does anyone use fountain pens for drawing? We've been experimenting with a Kakuno Pilot, but it draws very poorly, every line is super scratchy. Practically any ballpoint pen or fineliner offers much better results. Is there any nibs or cheap fountain pens that are smoother
