Why does Claude sometimes just ignore when you link him a GitHub wiki and try to find the file in the actual repo itself

I work at a top 100 university which has a lot of Nvidia chips and doesn't give us any AI other than copilot(what a useless shit) but they get angry if I run huge models on them so I can only run small models like 31 billion parameters which is obviously not good enough. So I buy codex and run that.
I'm paying some of the pay back to work there. I can't do anything without codex ofc. I also found out everyone else is doing the same thing. There's people who buy claude. Which is pretty insane.
On the plus side, I never say no to anything because with codex you can do anything, just have to wait for resets.

I thought that was too complicated, so I went to the source (USPTO) and just hoovered up all of the data. That way we don't need to crowd source anything.

I just had my first Fable refusal since the model came back. If you can get at least 48GB of RAM, then you can run Qwen 3.6 35B with CPU offload at full precision.
If you want to run something fully on VRAM then you can run Qwen 3.5 9B but it isn't really worth running. If slow is fine and it doesn't have to be quiet then you can think about buying an used and old DDR4 server. If you need speed then a desktop with used 3090s or AMD cards. Also depends on whether you are open to importing from China.

I really didn't like or have luck with any of the Gemma-4 models for coding. Best I've seen at the moment for agentic coding is qwen3.6-27b and Qwen-AgentWorld-35B-A3B which is a finetune of qwen3.5. Just be sure to break the tasks down into smaller less complex bites.
