People hate ads on the internet, but without them we wouldn't had many of the "free" services we use daily, imagine if you needed to pay to access most websites or online services, many times you'd use them only once and never return, it's the same as those paywalled articles, no one wants to pay, even if it's only a symbolic price. I think it's a fair trade, let all the normies watch ads so services can make money, while we /g/ 1337 h4x0rs use adblockers. It's ugly, but this is one of the best trades we could have done.

I don't really want most services.The internet was at it's best when most sites were just text/forums with links, a few images and some basic CSS ran by actual enthusiasts who paid out of pocket to share/talk about things that engaged them.
