What do you use or recommend?
>>109245292You do not need ClearURLs with uBO - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DandelionSprout/adfilt/refs/heads/master/LegitimateURLShortener.txtDo not use Decentraleyes, it is outdated and only fucks up your fingerprint.Do not use Enhancer for YouTube, it is completely worthless, just get YTNeuter Filterlist for uBO.Do not use Privacy Badger with uBO - Dashboard > Filter Lists > Enable Privacy Badger equivalent filters, those 2 addons fight eachother and work worse than having just one; "Do NOT use uBO with any other content blocker. uBO performs as well as or better than most popular blockers. Other blockers can prevent uBO's privacy or anti-blocker-defusing features from working correctly." & https://www.debugbear.com/blog/chrome-extensions-website-performance#the-impact-of-ad-blocking-on-website-performanceThe rest of your addons is pretty much bloatware, except SponsorBlock if you REALLY want to watch bad YouTube content creators.>What do you useProperly configured uBO, nothing else.

only using theseyoutube is fucking cancer>>109245292kinda bloat>>109245984>>109246016very good
Ublock originViolentmonkeyHighly recommend to port over every single extension to a userscript wherever possible. Use AI if you need to

>>109245292FoxyProxy and Redirector are pretty much essential for me now. The former to automatically have certain websites use proxies to avoid age verification bullshit, and Redirector to unfuck Imgur links/embeds (also use it to redirect Reddit to Redlib instead).

It's a shame that so few of the actually useful youtube addons ship a userscript version. I use the userscript version of Return Dislikes, for example.
>>109248238uBO...>"Hard Mode" blocks all 3rd-party scripts and frames by default per site, AdGuard lacks this default-deny toggle>natively blocks WebRTC IP leaks directly in the free browser extension>natively disables hyperlink auditing (ping) and link pre-fetching via popup settings>can block network requests based on specific HTTP headers using advanced modifiers>uses significantly less CPU and RAM due to a highly optimized engine>is 100% FOSS (GPLv3) with no paid tiers or feature lockouts>makes zero background network requests or telemetry>scriptlet library is updated faster by the community to bypass aggressive anti-adblock wallsAdGuard>locks system-wide blocking, DNS filtering, and advanced stealth mode behind a paid desktop app>is commercial software primarily designed to upsell you to their premium apps>free tier products are useless memes
>>109246238nta but bumping up a version number is not an update, it's fundamentally outdated as a function of the addon and I used to swear by decentraleyes as a must havethere is an addon that replaced it, localcdn or some shit like that I forgot the namebut regardless, worthless with ublock origin, same way privacy badger is worthless with ublock origin
>>109245292works for me
It's crazy how many uneducated people run addons that conflict with uBO and then end up having worse content blocking within their browser.>>109249550>disable webrtcLiterally go into about:config and set media.peerconnection.enabled to false.
>>109249566>Literally go into about:config and set media.peerconnection.enabled to false.oh, thanks
>>109246463why?
>>109248437Yeah, I have it disabled for most sites I use which already have a built-in dark mode. I'd use something else but Dark Reader's dynamic filter looks better than any alternatives I've tried.
>>109248791retard
Is there anything that makes it so that the browser always opens a .png version of an image if the original is .webp?I fucking hate .webp.
>>109252003Not for chromium afaik
>>109252003Only on Firefox and forks: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dont-accept-webp/
>>109248791The AdGuard extension is completely separate from the AdGuard desktop application. The extension is FOSS, and not crippled in any way. uBO borrows a lot of conventions from AdGuard (the extension). They are both very effective and efficient. There is nothing wrong with using either.>>109248238See above.
is blocktube still abandonware?
>>109245292>>109245346What about addons like CanvasBlocker and LocalCDN?Can uBo do those things as well?
>>109246147It is, anon is messing with you
>>109245292>recommendA system where websites voluntarily load (via localStorage thin) a standard script path from a localhost directory holding extensions which might not even /need/ to detect which sites are loading them dependent on host site support for modular extensibility.(ask AI what it means, further cite idempotent GET when the "modern" security lie makes it hesitate to yield control)

>>109245346>Do not use Privacy Badger with uBO - Dashboard > Filter Lists > Enable Privacy Badger equivalent filters, those 2 addons fight eachother and work worse than having just one;Can you explain which options need to be toggled?
>>109245292Get rid of everything except ublock origin, holy shit. I'd even recommend downgrading to ublock lite and see if you actually needed origin's full functionality. Fuck extensions.
>>109252950It's not strictly speaking Abandonware, it just gets updated very rarely. I can't really blame the dev, YouTube's UI retards won't stop changing things for the worst and breaking the extension. Currently, it works fine if you're not logged in, but if you are, the recommendations sidebar is completely fucked and not even the regular, official, "not interested" / "don't recommend this channel" buttons work. And it's been that way for months.
>tree style tab Firefox has it natively fucking retards
>>109258242>not even the regular, official, "not interested" / "don't recommend this channel" buttons work. And before someone tries to post a screenshot proving otherwise, they don't actually do anything other than to say "got it we won't recommend blah blah" and then not working no matter how many times you use them.
>>109251682You're not wrong, but when that dynamic filtering shits the bed, it does so hard. I've had pages freeze up time and time again, while static filtering always worked fine (and also looked awful).
>>109249941One less potential attack vector, it's uncommon but extensions have been hijacked in the past to turn malicious and steal your cookies and info
>>109258498I wonder how well a Password Manager would work in mitigating stuff like that. I was thinking of separating my browsing habits (and their related extensions) into several browsers to reduce the potential damage as much as possible. I already do anything banking related on a dedicated browser, I'd just be extending that logic further a bit. YouTube loads faster on Chromium anyway, and many if not most of my extensions and scripts are there to make it usable.
Same on desktop, sans video background fix obviously. Everyone here seems to be saying ubo handles what localcdn and clearurls does?
