It seems to me that interest in "technology" above normie level, what we do here, without content to consume, is itself becoming just a consumption. >I will learn to codeRitchie and Thompson did their thing. Torvalds and Stallman did their thing. What the fuck the world could need more, beside some PLCs at your chicken tendies factory and cobol for crusty finance mainframes cunting your neetbux? Another react web app bullshit? Oh, you are more ambitious then that anon. Physics simulations in C? Jumping on AI hype train perhaps?>I will make a homelab So you will pay ridiculous prices and put ridiculous effort just to have a parody of industry standards just to host your pr0n.> I'm gonna buy a shitty laptop from the 2000s on a flea market for way too much money and put OpenBSD on it. More or less elaborate larping, essentialy.>I will...uhh...invent yet another p2p implementation. Escape the botnet!!1You made your vpn-ddns-tor-monero-meshstatic-gopher-board. Now It's dead. It's always has been a hello world on wordpress with extra steps.Or some more retards join and start to talk about same technology stuff that we talk on regular www. Maybe you make some friends. Close friends. Maybe even like this childhood pack of boys looking for adventure kinda situation... Yeah, remember how such things quickly lost their meaning when you grew up?Maybe I'm just depressed burn out chud but it feels like there is exactly nothing to do as technology hobby that has objective meaning. So much effort, for essentialy just another kind of consumption that normies do.There is nothing of value in amateur non-normie technology, if there is no community or content additional to the thing itself. Passion projects like, say 9front, will simply dry out. Enlighten me, /g/. Why... why do we even do all those things. Is there any more value to being current with this stuff then or it mainly serve a role being a monument to one's Dunnig-Kruger?
Yeah...
There is no endgame, computing is being euthanized, and all we can do is watch.
>>109246318OP here, I thought about this end of spectrum too. The dumb terminal for government issued cloud under constant surveillance we are going for.The thing is, it's nice to read about politics or watch adult content, but we wouldn't "die" without it. And besides, there always be a way to. The point is, *they* already control you. If you are sitting in your basement and not gaining financial . fancy /g/ stuff won't help you. They have your ass, the state always have your ass with military conscription, welfare checks, psychiatry industry and such bullshit. Control of the internet is not , but just to better govern cattle on Normiebook. Still, it doesn't really change anything for /ourguys/.
>>109246274Keeping up with tech enough that you can counteract all the subversive elements being enacted on it/through it. That's basically most of the value, it's also access to information, you should be using tech as a means for finding truth, learning skills and understanding reality. Obviously most people just know nothing about tech and just use it to watch porn and social media but if your'e actually striving for some righteous endgame this is it imo. Utilizing tech to achieve enlightenment and understanding to the best of your capabilities. And to do this you have to be able to undermine all the systems being placed on you from a technical aspect, so you don't end up crippled in some shitty walled garden that bans the truth.
>>109246274This is why you need a metaphysics anon, it puts the why behind an action.Terry davis built the third templeI decrypted true value and programmed an exit
>>109246396Skills and reality boild down to living your life in a normie world really. You could be more specific anon since your post sounds a bit like a TED talk. You want to know and spread the truth. Sure, encrypted satellite comms enables warzone journalists, chinese dissidents and all that. How do you gain this "enlightment" for (You)? Tech is merely a tool for this truth/enlightment/vale in something else it seems.>>109246407Now Terry's vision, that's what I am talking about. It's using tech for something one of a kind. Based and heterosexual reply.
>>109246274thank you for posting this, anon.https://drcat.fun/?blog=lainlife
>>109246451Anon I'm not sure what you're fishing for I thought you were just asking a generic endgame question like you seem to think learning tech to some insane lifelong degree is just pointless and honestly I largely agree, unless you plan on working in the industry, the max you need to know is enough to control your own device so it serves you and not these digital corporations taking over everyone's devices and by proxy their minds. What I use it for is archiving, collecting and learning about spiritual topics, gardening, fitness, communication methods, off grid living, meeting like minded people etc. Essentially all of my understanding of reality have come from connecting to more experienced lived people over the internet, and all of that came because I just happened to get interested in tech when I was younger and became autistic about owning my devices in full jailbreaking them, installing alt OSs etc. My personal goal is to be as far away from normie society as possible, leveraging tech makes this significantly easier. I am sure this answer is sub par for you but I really just don't have the effort today, you're on track im if you think you're wasting time on tech and are too involved in it though, living on here should not be anyones endgame especially now where it's more fake and gay than ever
please translate in one sentence what this social statistician babble is about
