why doesn't anon install fedora?
why would anon?
>>109247281Every time I tried it, it had smol weird bugs I don't see on Gentoo or Debian
>>109247281Because I already have it installed.
>>109247281Been running Fedora's Cinnamon spin as my daily driver since F31. Extremely comfy.
>>109247281because I'm not a cuck and run my own distro
>>109247281I do but I wish people would stop recommending rpmfusion because it's outdated and lazy. After waiting for 3 months to update bugged nvidia drivers...Negativo17 is upheld by a real enthusiast. Of course 5 years from now we can't tell if n17 even exists but still.
>>109247281because i use windows for my gaming pc, mac for my desktop, and unraid for my serveri have no real reason for any other os. i know how those 3 work and im set in my ways
>>109247755you could use linux for all 3, be on one ecosystem.
>>109247281Debian has all I need
I did quite a few times but I would always run into random crashes right from the get go and I cannot trust them to update a fucking package properly, it's very inconsistent with that.
>>109247281I'm using it right now, been on the same install since 2021.
>>109247281>why doesn't anon install fedora?Because Fedora is just a beta testing branch for Red Hat. They push all the half baked new technology into it and hope that the users will find all the bugs so that they can fix them and then ship the new technology to their business customers. I don't know how Red Hat pulled this magic trick of making people be beta testers for free while these same users advertise their beta test distro all over the internet as the future of Linux.
>>109248230At the same time the profits from red hat are poured into developing fedora, so fedora is one of the few free distros who's developers are actually employed and paid really well
>>109247955It has worked for me well but I only use x11 and bspwm.Have no idea what sort of shitshow kde or gnome is, both of them add tons of extra dependencies.
>>109248250My problem is that I can use KDE plasma on distros like openSUSE or Arch and have no issues that I come across on Fedora.Like it's very easy to attribute "krashes" to a desktop environment but if I'm constantly having problems in one distro over the others maybe the problem is not the fucking DE.
>>109247281fedora kde 42 was the first time I ended up sticking with linux as the main driverprops to gaben for upstreaming so much to proton
>>109248230>users get decent shit>company that payrolls it gets feedback and bugfixesseems like a win-win?
>>109248250>it never breaks>but I only use [software that never updates]wowie what a concept
