You can get similar performance to the previous model for much cheaper. You also get better performance if you're willing to pay. Hardly a flop but perhaps not an earth shattering accomplishment either. Consider the practicality of it for people who do actual work and have been getting along just fine with 5.5 xhigh. Contrast it with Anthropic's will they won't they bullshit when it comes to subscriptions. OpenAI has the more feasible business model.
