fix the problem, don't just lie about it. and proton/wine are not proper backwards compatibility. not because they don't work sometimes, or well enough for certain software. but precisely because they were never an official subsystem of the OS and are a hack that will always result in issues here and there. and this means that they are a problem, because they don't work well enough.

I pirate and not use steam so if I get an issue like no audio, no display or garbage font, Google has no answers. I'm the only person who's ever had that problem. It already happened with a few games like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 etc,.

Is it really an issue? Half the games I have installed thru steam, the other half are fitgirl repacks. Despite the repacks never being intended for linux it works out of the box thru heroic gaming as launcher 90% of the time.

Last time I tested it there was still a good 30% performance drop compared to windows, even with nvidia drivers and native games like CS2. There were stutters that couldn't be ironed out and some games were broken for months at a time. Some games like MCC are still broken even after YEARS

No matter how good Proton is, it doesn't fix the driver disaster that Linux is, either.
Don't fall for the cherry-picked propaganda that games run better on Linux than they do on Windows: for every game that runs better on Linux, there are 20 that run worse, and 10 that don't run at all.

Because then I would need interoperability between Windows and Linux, and NTFS implementations on the latter all suck dogshit.

Usecase when all games i play run on windows?

I like Windows.
I know Windows.
I know how to beat it into submission.
Windows just works.
I don't need to change it out of ideological reasons.
