this is autistic as fuck, but current events got me thinking: if you had to chronologically map (even roughly) the state of current OpenAI to the state of Nazi Germany at a certain period in WW2, where would it be?they had a huge headstart, made microsoft heavily dependent on them, blahblahblah. yet they aren't doing shit on in-house hardware (unlike gemini), and i honestly don't think chatgpt has a niche strongsuit anymore. google has android/new ios siri, claude excels at writing code, deepseek offers cheap rates from a non-US company, grok has twitter & the "unbiased" perspective... even fucking copilot has a stronghold, with office 365/w11 integration. in addition to being the primary target for people angry about RAM/hardware prices (with money he may not even have), sam altman is embroiled in controversy nonstop. first it was his sister, and now apparently an openAI asset (with high security clearance at apple), doesn't even try to be subtle/clever with the sheer amount of shit he leaked.it seems to me as if they are rapidly losing ground, and their "blitz" model of questionable cash + timing/influence at first... has almost started cannibalizing itself. i mean, i don't think they're going to go bankrupt soon, and maybe i'm being dramatic, but this isn't sustainable.
theyre at an all time high with sol rn, theyre finelong as model intelligence goes up, so too will funding and revenue
