I have been using invidious as a youtube font-end for years now. No front page or shorts present, just a box to search for a video.
Had a quick look at the current state of YouTube in 2k26 and oh my god, what a miserable experience.
There is so much clutter, distraction and wasted space. Video previews autoplay instantly as you hover over them with an obnoxious colour blob to highlight the current video.
Thumbnails are aggressively shocking. It used to be only a few videos which did it but like a weed this has spread to every corner of the platform.
On librewolf it's such a buggy mess to sift through rife with stuttering and buffering. Invidious has it's share of bugs too but that's more to do with YouTube making it more difficult to use alternative front-ends.
I used to have a wealth of channels I subscribed to but I got so annoyed with the platform that I wiped all my data (I kept a backup but there doesn't seem to be a way to import these since YouTube changed the subscriptions formatting). So I'm stuck with the default home screen, but this experience has only strengthened my desire to avoid this content swamp.
If anyone has some /g/related (or generally interesting) RSS feeds - video or otherwise - then feel free to share.

(pic rel is just a random sample taken from the home page)
