Proprietary apps might not work soon. RCS absolutely will not work with the default messaging app. There is no way to get most of the carrier apps so some functionality might be broken, especially using 3rd party texting/calling apps (just use the built in ones, they aren't pretty but they work the most with the various carriers). The Google hardware isn't good for gaming, so if you wanted to emulate some high end games or run WINE for PC games then you'd absolutely be out of luck. GrapheneOS forums/reddit are no help for rooting because grapheneOS devs don't recommend it.

The other way would be to look at banks that aim to support apps on custom roms like GrapheneOS, like for example Starling. Because *if* you're gonna make the app a hard requirement, I don't want that shit to be tied down to the Google/Apple ecosystem. Some european banks started charging fee for every verification SMS, basically forcing you into using their smartphone app, blame retarded boomers for this.
