Im not from USA, 7yoe in finance/banking, main stack is modern java/angular/aws/kafka/psql/db2. I also have experience with python and dotnet (core, asp, mvc). Also i know a lot of cicd, like config deploy, wiring aws, using distributed tracing. Also a lot of linux operation like setting accs, mgmt of creds, certs, bc had a linux embbeded job in the past. Have worked both in fullstack jobs and backend heavy. Example of things i know how to do:

Honestly, in all my carrer i never had to perform some high tech task like implementing a high performing dijksta tree, converting some java service to c++, modifying a linux kernel, writing CUDA parallel tasks and so on. My jobs were more about keeping the project under schedule, not fucking up a prod deploy, doing basic optims like improving db queries, parallelizing web reqs, improving cloud infra, caching and so. The basic enterprise IT dev job.

I feel qualified for a sr role, my last job was a sr role and i dont feel like wasting my time studying shit like CUDA, cpp, erlang, rust... we all know that in enterprise jobs you wont need this. I know that any sr java dev job i take wont offer challenges at all and will require all the basic shit i already know how to do.

Yet i cannot get a job. I dont know if it is a simple shit like not having 10 yoe or maybe knowing java + another language. Any ideas? Like lying i have 15yoe instead of 7 or lying i have experience as a PO/PM. I dont know, im also looking for alternative carrers. Everything i already know is never enough for any job.

I got this for cutting and stripping cables and unscrewing things. Seemed like the best scissors I could find on a mini multitool. Cons to it are the pliers are incredibly thin, the phillips is kind of shit, and the red I got so I wouldn't leave it at install sites as easily is a plate that collects grit behind it. My coworker has a leatherman mini one with good scissors but it has no pliers and they discontinued it. It's a coping mechanism from childhood bullying and getting my ass kicked every time I tried to stand up for myself. There's not much I can recommend because trauma often can't really be resolved. It's like a giant module consisting of tens of thousends LOC written by the worst junior devs that somehow still works but is unrefactorable and will eventually break with a future update. Personally I cope with trauma by taking medications. Finding a perfect, permanent solution like a lot of asshats recommend is just not feasible and I would probably be spending centuries on some mountain seeking enlightment or whatever.

The worst ever was at Zillow, the guy asked me a leetcode easy that I solved in 5 minutes, then had no follow ups and didn't even have any behavioral questions, so I asked him a few questions about his work life (and got vague useless answers) and we finished with more than 30 minutes left. Two days later I got a rejection email.
